New York City, 1929: welcome to the height of the American Prohibition. The Five Families have cornered the illegal liquor distribution in all five boroughs of the city. Your father, the Don of the Leonesi Family Mafia, is assassinated on the street: inheriting the crown, it is now up to you - as boss - to restore the supremacy of your Family and take back the streets that you used to own. Capo di tutti capi.

The city is corrupt from the inside out, however. The Politicians run the show, and you're going to have to keep them on-side if you want to succeed. Liquor distribution may be illegal, but nobody is gonna stop you if they're taking a cut of your profits. Bribery is only part of the game, but money goes far - and allocating it is a skill.

Start shooting up the streets, however, and you'll soon find yourself involved with a lot of unnecessary attention from all sides - especially the City Police - so you're going to have to be subtle with violence, if you want to make money.

Similarly, keeping your public satisfied is crucial because they're your main source of income. If you want to maintain those huge alcohol profits, you need to look after your community: violence on the streets will reduce the people's respect for your Family, making you less money in the long-term.

Keeping your districts stocked up with alcohol, to meet demand, is the most important thing of all - your liquor crates are ordered and shipped into the city Sea Ports at night by boatload, which means keeping a level of respect with the Dockers Unions that run operations on them. It's a thirsty town.

Your Family, the Leonesi Mafia, run Staten Island - the least-prestigious and smallest borough in New York City. Building up your districts, shipping crates of liquor, upgrading the quality of your alcohol, arming your mobsters on the street, maintaining your city connections, and going to war with the four rival Mafia Families are all part of your journey towards owning the entire city and achieving the title of Boss of all Bosses.

I love the idea of this game so much! I just hate the fact that there is not a lot to do. I hate that the game is so easy and it ends fairly quick.

The biggest problem with this game is the fact it's not longer to keep me playing more. I want to play this game for hours on end!

You really nailed something here 'Victory'. Great game.

My only complaints as far as the game goes are the following:

A few glitches such as, The mob attacking even though I have them at 0% and they are happy with me.

For gameplay, I disliked the fact that when you buy a shipment of booze, and your area is being attacked, you have TONS of booze in one area and when you take back what you had there is hardly any. I have this thing about symmetry, even with numbers.

I wasn't happy with the constant pop ups after each day because I don't have the greatest computer, so it causes some unnecessary slowdown, even on low settings. Maybe have an option to disable pop ups or just have a news ticker at the bottom?

Amazing game, I loved it! I can't wait for you to update this one, or make a sequel.

The gameplay is fun but it seems there is too many bugs and not enough animation to fully enjoy the game. Now I would say if you took a lesson from the way crime works in the game MasterMind World Conqueror b y TheSwain you would have an all out hit. Try and add more crimes to make it feel more like a mob game. Maybe sabotage someone else's business or clubs to make them weaker. Send undercover mobsters out to find out weakness' in the other mobs area and put the odds on your end more so when you takeover. Have a local business racket. And let us recruit our mobsters as well as a #2 Henchman character and patsies to take the fall for crimes. Maybe you can even have an animation for every time you kill off a mob or buy them out. Give us some characters rather than just a description. Make us hate that person and have an even sweeter victory. These would all improve the gameplay many times over.

Now as far as bugs go it didnt lag at all for me like many others say. However I did have a problem with the fact that even though I would bribe the mobs they would take over my areas. After day 70 toleration seems to not be an issue for them to take over my areas in queens. Making the game impossible to play. However when I take over a buisiness the citys toleration goes to the dust. This seems to be an advantage the CPU character has over mine. The police's respect didnt seem to matter at all which bugged me as well because why should I pay them? And then my mob never seemed to grow at a decent enough rate even with the best guns. I would always get my ass whooped.

Other than all the faults this game was good but has so much potential to be better. Definently make a sequel, but with a different, more edgier name that could put into perspective that you are running a prohibition racket.

Nice game (while I was able to grow)!
Great music and sound effects, but some glitches, though. I've filled the whole "Staten Island" with Casinos, but that's all. It won't let me upgrade further as the button keeps disappearing (and driving me nuts!).

With respect to the "Mafia War" said below, I'm experiencing the same problem. Those guys keep on attacking me (even the ones with a 0% Animosity Level against me) so I lose all my prestige when I attack them back. (I've conquered all the pins so suck it, rival gangs!)

I've already tried the "save, exit and continue" stuff said in a previous comment, but no effect...

In general terms, a great game! I'll rate it 4/5 stars because of the problem with the upgrades and the Mafia War, but GREAT JOB! :)

Greetings from Spain!

Victory responds:

You can't upgrade past casinos, they're the highest-level buildings in the game. The sequel will develop the variety of buildings you can build. :)
