I quite liked this game. I like the idea although I think the character is a little 'static'. Perhaps you could add in some little movements here and there. Also, being a girl, I'd have liked to see more 'shiny' things. Like maybe some different coloured diamonds which could be bonus power-ups or something? I also found it a little slow to get started and I had some trouble shooting while accelerating at the same time but maybe that it just because I'm not good at games :P
I think there are a couple of harsh reviews for this which is a shame, because I don't think it deserves them, but there are also some good feedbacks which have been brought up a few times which will help you improve the game further if you decide to work on it a bit more.
Everything looks the same - the cart art is good, background is kinda bad. You can't shoot in a middle of a jump [why?]. Enemies moves with the character [if you got more speed, the enemy will be forward]. The game itself is a bit boring.
Its a good follow up to the second game, its very slow to get started, and it took me a long while to get past the end of the first level. getting 5000 nuggets at the end of the level and the price of the body/engine could be changed and the only major thing that should be changed is the music because it gets repepetive as its the only music you hear throughout the game
gotta agree with jpuroila down there. it gets repetitive and boring extremely quickly. perhaps try a random level generator with certain atributes added at different points instead? ie "after passing this point extend the jump length max to this value" kind of thing. on the plus side the music is very nice but other then that this is more of a "repeat to buy upgrades to pass the measily trials that you cant pass wthout them" kind of thing and very few peoplelike that kind of game. hopefully you will take this as advice and consider it for the next game like this that you make.
The design "play the same exact level a few dozen times to maybe have a chance of beating it" doesn't really appeal to me.
