Anodyne is an adventure game that focuses on immersing the player through a combination of 16-bit era visual and audio aesthetics, Zelda-esque action/adventure gameplay mechanics, and exploration of the human Young's dream world.

The player moves between rooms 160x160 pixels in size, an intended constraint that we used to create the monster-filled dungeons you will navigate and the set of nature-based (and sometimes stranger) places you will explore.

Anodyne is created by Sean Hogan and Jonathan Kittaka. You can follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/seagai a2 and https://twitter.com/Jonat hanKittaka , or follow the game's updates at https://twitter.com/anody negame .

Good game. Got 4 achievements. Leaves you unsatisfied though. Even for a demo. It should have some kind of ending like "thank you for playing a demo, go buy..." and fade out.

Seagaia responds:

hm, it's hard to put an "ending" to it, since that last area is very wide open and we don't want to cut it short just because you ended up in one place.

I like the Idea, and i'm a sucker for 8-bit games anyways xD reminds me of dungeon crawling in legend of zelda so I like it.

I don't know why I like this game. I'm not fond Zelda like games in fact.
But Anodyne reminds me how we used to enjoy playing as kids, killing imaginary monsters with a stick. Or even a broom.
My understanding of the plot may be wrong. But this childish and oniric game kept me playing it. Bravo!

there's a point in the demo where when i die in the river, i spawn in a wall and i have to die from bats in another room next to it while still in the wall, haven't gotten too far yet but it's great so far

Seagaia responds:

Yeah, that's a known issue - I'm working on fixing it for a later patch.
