HD RELEASE: The death of a hero forces the Mushroom Kingdom to get revenge.
This is a special HD release of Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom. Disc 1 includes both the original Parts 1 and 2 combined into one epic movie! Disc 2 next week(ish)
Created by the late Randy Solem, Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom may very well be one of the most epic Mario sprite movies to ever hit the web. Infact at one point this was so popular that G4's Attack of the Show brought him to the studio for a T.V interview.

This always gets a perfect score in my book. But I didn't see any differences between this and the original aside from the episode combining episode one and two. All the sprites looks the same to me. I must need stronger glasses.

ROTMK was the very first animation i came across with, it's the one that introduced me to this underworld of great artist doing amazing stuff on the web, and eventually it led me to newgrounds...it's shocking to know Randy Solem died, i had no idea...may he rest in peace

I'm surprised this doesn't have a higher rating! While this isn't one of my favorite flashes from Randy-Solem, it's still awesome. It mostly works because of how great everything pulls together. There are so many things going on, like the koopa who literally cracks the fourth wall. It's also great how he didn't show what really happened until the last few SECONDS. I had no idea the original part was so short.
I think this may be the first time I've seen a reposting of an old cartoon in high definition. It of course works out fantastically. It's funny to see how a character that doesn't wear pants wets himself. The atmosphere is so good, especially with the snow at the end. Ben Spurgin appeared on a tombstone, was that in the original one?

I remember this as being one of the first big flash series that I watched when I starting getting into anime and gaming. Still remains a favorite, thank you for bringing this back and the wonderful memories as well!
