Move with the arrow keys. Jump with A. Perform attacks with S. Throw grenades with D. Release energy blasts with F. Interact with the Space bar.
There is a walkthrough built in to the game. Just click the '?' in the bottom right menu whenever you get stuck!

Good Game!
You really nailed the 8bit style. Love the long notes in the music, reminds me of the original Gargoyles Quest. The lightning early on had a dramatic Castlevania effect. I like how you mixed it up with the boss fights. Awesome job guiding you through the objectives without making it feel completely like a linear path. I think you are really good at metroid style exploration. you should consider working on a bigger game with a map and more stuff!!!
probably the only thing that bothered me was the aiming when you got the gun. mouse aiming option would be better. i know, i know, that wouldn't work well with the other actions... maybe switch controls to WASD for movement, UP jump, LEFT grenade, RIGHT & MOUSE shoot/punch. and you could still keep it 8 direction just do closest alignment with mouse. also would help in aiming grenades. but i dunno....

I give it a 4. It loses a star ONLY because the game is so laggy that I couldn't finish playing. It looks like an awesome game, and I really like the story. It's a bummer I can't play it through to the end because the 8 bit graphics look amazing D:

The game keeps glitching for me. Either the guy wont jump, or he continuously jumps and will not respond to the A button. I reloaded several times, and tried different things to prevent the glitch but it still persists. It looks pretty cool, but i cant even get past the first jump spot in the cave.

its a really sad story and the doble jump; you'll recive it when you get the food and get back home but i need help getting a cross that high wall
