A rant about how video games can be considered an artform and the people who just don't get it.

Why drink yourself into a unconcious state where you dont remeber what the hell happened when you can play a video game and go on a adventure that is beyond belief, increase your imagination. increase your happiness and socialise if you want to in so many more different ways than just "hey lets go get shit-faced"

But I do believe that video games can also be a replacement for alcohol and maybe addictive so it should be moderated.

YES! I too am SO sick of people who think that video games are a "waste of time" and "arent a legitimate lifestyle" and yet kids going out after school and getting shitfaced on alcohol with their "friends" who dont give 2 shits when one of them passes out on their face, smashing their head into the nearest table or counter top or chair is considered "a legitimate lifestyle" by the same people. Wanna know why i enjoy playing video games so much? Because they are one of the few things that truly capture my interest in life, they are complex and immersive and always offer plenty of storyline and content to explore and almost always, the experience of playing a single game twice is never exactly the same as the first time playing it. Good luck finding other activities in life that offer the same vast variety of experiences and new and interesting things to explore, per each activity. Take sports for example, they are games true, but they are BORING and DULL! They almost all involve nothing but tossing around and kicking, throwing, catching, or hitting a ball, and revolve entirely around this far too simplistic concept, theres no complexity or critical thinking to it, theres nothing new and interesting to explore, and the variety of replaying experiences offered by them are very VERY limited, its like once you see one sports game, youve seen what all the games of that particular sport are like, theres no variation, practically no difference between the experience of each individual game, and certainly no new concepts or items or spaces to explore and investigate. So FUCK YOUR BORING ASS SPORTS ALL YOU SPORTS FANATICS! ... OH!
