Alright! Daily Third! Thanks a lot, guys! Weekly 5th too!
Round 1 entry for Albino Black Sheep's Tournament of Flash Artists 2012, where animators have three weeks to animate a cartoon around a theme.

Round theme: "The end of the world."

It's about time I made something! Last time I updated anything that wasn't a collab was about three years ago! First time I got to animate Sarah here in a speaking role, too.

Autodesk Maya crashes a lot too! They didn't prep for that, now did they?

I found this animation very amusing; the only real problems I could see was the echo on the voice acting and the real-life stills were a bit low quality, but I know nothing about Flash so maybe that is to be expected. Anyways, I liked the characters and the story a lot.

What really pisses me off about flash the the ctrl-q short cut. I mean to transform a symbol but it ends up closing my project when I forget to save! Nice animation though!

AtroxChobatsu responds:

Man, you know what's funny? The first hour I spent working on this cartoon, I roughed out the background for the opening shot. When I turned it into a symbol, chunks of the rough sketch disappeared. When I hit ctrl-Z, the whole symbol, sketch and all, disappeared. Undoing further wouldn't bring it back, and re-doing would restore it with the missing chunks.

Only an hour into making a cartoon about the annoying glitches Flash does, and this happened. Somehow, Flash knew.

Thank you!

I've always liked your animations, it's certainly nothing to point out there. However, I do think you need to work on your storytelling. I understand that you have a thing for goldenage cartoons but I feel like you have borrowed too many jokes and ideas from that time. It gets a bit too predictable.

Also, don't you think your character would work better mute? I think you'd achieve more personality with that character by just using body language and it'd create that sort of feel that I've been seeing you trying to pull off.

Just my two cents. Please keep making projects, man.
