Although I am fully aware that the Nyan Cat meme is about as old as Betty White in internet years, this ridiculous little two-week project was still a lot of fun, and was mainly for the purpose of determining how well I could pull off a wide range of musical styles in Logic. In a perfect world, this project would have been twice as long, but some genres are deceptively tough to reproduce with only a laptop at my disposal. In loving memory of Nyan Cat.

WARNING: There is a brief section about a minute in that makes use of a strobe effect. If you know you suffer from epilepsy, you may want to steer clear.

I am just amazed of the extent of which you presented this...

I thought some of the ideas were just briliant! Especially the one where Nyan Cat is waiting on the phone. Also, do I spy a Monty Python reference in there? I also liked the ska version of it, reminded me of Reel Big Fish.

WoodTick responds:

Many thanks! It really did end up sounding like Reel Big Fish, although visually, I was going for more of a Mighty Mighty Bosstones look. Wait. Is there a difference?

I LOVE this treatment of the nyan cat meme. Also...that EYE POPPING JACKET! It's just like Stan's from the Monkey Island games! I almost think the 'walk' is modeled directly off of it. Love it! (my mate said the jacket gave him a headache lol)

WoodTick responds:

The Ska Cat is actually a heavily modded version of a Stan walk cycle. Good eye!

Great work, but can you label the genre names in the corner?
