I tried to get this out before Halloween, but the Hurricane knocked the power out for a few days, so pretend it's a few days ago and go to digital hell!

By reading a lot of comments a lot of you seem to bring up the same few points, so rather then respond one by one I'm just going to put this up.

"There's no story and/or it's confusing" - There's a story, though it's technically a "back story". I wrote how the characters ended up in the place they are but didn't put it any where in the short. The purpose of the film was to simulate a hellish dimension or a really intense panic attack. The main character enters this place not knowing who he is or how he got there and is acting on feelings/instincts alone. He wanders from scenario to scenario clueless and terrified which, hopefully, makes the viewer confused and scared as well. Like if I'm trying to get you to see through the eyes of the character instead just follow his story. To do that I wanted the viewer to only have as much information as the man with no memory. My point being that I wasn't telling to tell a detailed narrative story, I wanted to take the viewer on a roller coaster ride of panic and terror!

"The animation is bad and/or the hair physics suck" I know, but I animated the entire short by myself using home computers and a hacked xbox 360 kinect. I never went to animation school and I don't have a team of animators. I am in the middle of making a feature film and took a break for a month to try and make a halloween special for the internet. This short is what I can accomplish on my own without any help or money in 30-40 days time.

"the sound is really noisey and/or loud" - I wanted to use a soundtrack of only noise to heighten that sense of dread and terror. I admittedly only listened to it on my home speakers, which include a subwoofer, etc. I never tested it in headphones or regular computer speakers, so my mistake if it sounds way out of sorts on some home speakers. If i ever decide to release it on DVD I might pay to get it remastered first.

I don't believe anyone is looking at this correctly to state any of the past as fact. The story isn't in the visuals or the design. It's the act and purpose. The story is the true art behind this. The title, what happened, what didn't happen, what should have happened, what wanted to happen. How everything was portrayed. The vestigial look of certain characters, their deformity is true in the eyes of the beholder. To characters of this film, everything was loud to them, everything was amplified. Think of what influence they were under, why the light looked and almost felt the way it did. Feel the scene. It was full of glass, blood, and life that shouldn't have been, even death visited in various dimensions, be it rot, murder, or consequential accidents. There were lies and a sense of affection that every human seeks, whether they force their mind to "unbelieve" it or not.
There's a hellish fear in the midst of all of this. Being alone, unable to trust, going by instinct not knowing what is right or wrong, you don't know which way is up or down, but deep inside of you something is screaming out in pain, panic, fear saying "watchout" but your body can't hear a thing. Your body is giving in to what it's instincts tell you is beneficial to your survival. Your mind only reacts to the chemical explosions that are uncontrolled, unhindered, uninhibited.
This... this is true fear. The kind of fear you don't understand because you don't realize you're already a victim. You've already suffered the impact of this story. Let the fragile and simple brain process the image. The fear and panic will settle in when you least expect it. In conversation, in sleep, in your reaction, in your thought. It's a seed and it's growing.
Screamer and Emily? You guys are creative geniuses. Keep the fucking awesome work up. Just don't become part of the story. We need you to keep opening minds, even if we don't notice it.

I guess this flash isn't for me. The sound is loud, the animation is mediocre, The general style while interesting at times tends to be unappealing to me. Also, it seems to me it tries a bit too hard to be well "screwed up" i suppose is a light way of putting it? Just being disturbing and shocking for the sake of it. Now i know, you were trying to display the darkest most unsettling side of humans but it still doesn't truly come off to me as genuine.

Nice attempt but it just doesn't do it for me.

though the short was a bit hard to follow (considering no story was intended) it gives u a really good definition of how disgusting the deepest parts of the human mind can be. you did a really good job man. you really set the atmosphere on this one, though the graphics werent as good, it still gave it an up with just watching wats happening

if you lower the sound, and change the contrast and brightness of your screen, then illuminate your room, the thing is watchable without headaches, ear or eye pain, you do fell kinda numb, if that is te case remove your headpones for 5 to 10 seconds, you will recover after a while.
now to the video after the technical issues are fixed is somehow enjoyable in the midst of its nonsense. not really terrified or scared it does delivers a sense of weirdness, a sense of being lost.
