UPDATE: Thank you for 4th Place and Frontpage Newgrounders~~:D
Music: A Tale Of Woe by Terry Hall and Mushtaq ,The Hour of Two Lights
It was...... creative? i didn't really like the message and the animation was not pleasing to my eyes... and the music fit but i wasn't a big fan. it was alright, i'll give it five stars
That's funny:) I get your message:D
SO basically, its a story about survival. The person is running through a war zone in an attempt to escape. However she sees a lot of things, sad things that happen, and sees how the world is not perfect. She also escapes death multiple times, only to be saved by injury in the end. When she is injured, she is saved because she has escaped
Altogether I think it was a good animation. I personally did not especially like the style of the background (real pictures mixed with drawing, Would've liked only drawing more), and also wish that you had put the sketches directly into the document, instead of outlining them in white (you can do this in photoshop then import it into flash, however it was still a great animation and the message was good. also, nice drawing
Thank you for your review, Yeah, I guess that in the next sequel (hopefully; depends) I'll try not to cut away from the outline. It seems pretty clear now. I'm sorry that you didn't like the mixtures from the background. I'll see what I can do to harmonize both elements next time...If anyone wanted to see a sequel:)
Really not a fan of the music or the style. However, I feel like I would have felt differently if the backgrounds were better. The low resolution images takes a lot away from the piece itself and its just plain annoying to look at. Also... if you're already making a video with real image backgrounds couldn't you have animated the character beyond line drawings? I understand that's a certain style, but I feel like it's a cop-out in this case... Overall just looks super cheap to me.
Your right about the resolution. It's a pain to see them in pixel. Now that you mention it, I should put it in beyond the line, since you do make sense of it. So I would love to make a sequel to correct what's wrong. If people wanted that, of course...it's up to the viewers to determined that:)
I like the animation, the image detail, and the melody of the song, but bloody hell is it hard to understand the lyrics. I tried my best to make out the story from the words alone, but the singing isn't very clear. I am judging this mainly for the animation and detail though (I wish I could draw that well :-P).
I'm sorry that you couldn't understand....cause I too, couldn't get the lyrics. I couldn't search it on the web. So I just need to listen. But I felt that the beat and song was an impact and decided that this tune is suitable for the struggle which I represent here.
It's okay if you judge only on visuals...No harm done. But, yeah, you should at least practice to draw. Practice makes Perfect:D
This is some quality Jamie Hewlett lookin-ass shit right here. I feel that both the animation style and music used is derivative of the Gorillaz, and I love it!
Thank you for the review! I am totally a fan of Jamie Hewlett. Terry Hall once collaborated with Damon Albarn...so I guess Damon was inspired by Terry Hall's middle eastern instrumental swing. The album Plastic Beach was very highly noticeable.
An indirect Sequel to "The Artist" shows the life of the salaryman
Cornelius & Toots are back, and a Haunted House Ride seems a little spookier than usual!
