Personally I find this game to be really fun. While I am not a fan of the pay-to-play system I don't think that It should condemn such a great game to low scores. A great game is in fact a great game, if and how its creator want to make money off of it is something we have been dealing with since games first appeared. I'm just glad days refill in such a short time, after all edgebee could've made us wait all day for the four day limit to fill.

Now on to the game:
The concept of crafting items and selling them to eager adventurers is as addicting as it is fun and I find that the thug and guild concepts make it more fun with other people. I would however add some way to upgrade your store without depending entirely on your guild to donate points to your cause so that players who prefer playing alone don't have to suffer to much. The randomly distributed skill points for your employees is an interesting concept. In reality I guess it makes the game more interesting, but I would rather distribute the points myself.

So all in all the game is fun, addictive, and leans a little heavily on guilds. For these reasons it gets 4.5 out of 5

I like the idea of this game. Its gameplay is highly addictive and it really is a lot of fun running your own item store.

But the thing with the tokens is just plain annoying. As other people already suggested, make this game buyable in stores, i would get me a copy. It is ideal to play in short breaks on your laptop, not many games are suitable for that purpose.

And please, make multiplayer optional. I hate the necessity to have a guild so you can build upgrades to your shop. Just give guilds some nice advantages and everyone is happy. I think everything in a game should be accessible to single- and multiplayers alike, so everyone can play as he wishes.

I really hope the constructive criticism of the Newgrounders does not hit deaf ears. If so, a great game idea might vanish due to a lack of support from gamers and people might start avoiding edgebee.

"If something isn't broken, don't fix it" is what comes to mind about this game's release onto Newgrounds, having been already released on kongregate. The problem is that the developer instead opted for the same pay-to-play format instead of releasing a modified free version that possibly could have used Newground built-in revenue system. I've never been a fan of pay to play gaming ranging from online MMORPGs to Farmville-styled games, especially the later because both farmville and this game both incorporated micromanaging, interactions with other people, and a some-what addicting "One more minute gameplay". This game is an example of bait-and-switch marketing tactics, which if i really wanted to make money myself at the expense of my players i would also probably would do.

The only redeeming feature of this game is that it play brilliantly, in regards to being addicting, which be a plus if not for the unusual pay-to-play system incorporated in a flash game. But the game isn't really balanced in the regards that certain characters are always less useful than others, and if you happen to pick the wrong person, there goes several real life days gone trying to get another character or simply getting to the same position with one of the better characters.

The game itself is 3/5 but the pay-to-play system reduced that to only half a star.
