SURVIVE Bots vs. Machines is a mouse controlled, 2D turn-based strategy game with an emphasis on strategic gameplay (created using The Games Factory 2). Every action in the game is useful in defeating your opponent. The game has a classic 80's/early 90's arcade style. Playing it may give you the same giddy fealing you get when you put fireworks in with a bunch of green plastic army men.

Play 1P vs. 2P with a friend (or enemy) and 1P controls the Bots while 2P controls a Machine.

Play 1P vs. CPU for a real challenge with AI that changes depending on the difficulty level.

Features:
4 Bot groups with 3 ranks of bots each... COMMANDER, Upgrade, and Regular Bots
4 Machine Characters
1P and 2P BONUSES....Destroy your opponents BONUS to prevent them from using it.
2 Modes of play (1P vs. 2P or 1P vs. CPU)
10 Stages
4 Difficulty levels
4 different endings
HYPER Mode Machine Moves
Built-in Tutorial and Quick Tutorial
GAME HINTS feature to teach you how to beat the Machines (READ THESE, THEY REALLY HELP)
Unique abilities from shooting over walls, bouncing bullets, placing explosives, teleporting, lazers, heatseekers, tractor beams, Barrier destroyers, creating Bot clones, etc.

This game is AWESOME! I'm so glad that somebody realized that 8bit graphics aren't the only way to reference old games. This reminds me SO MUCH of old games I used to play on Windows 95. It was really fun, the bad guys were all interesting and unique, with their different abilities and stuff. I can't say enough about this game, it was incredible

Thank you very much!!! Old games from the early/mid 80's had to rely on great GAMEPLAY in order to make up for the small boxy graphics. Gameplay will always be my primary focus on games! :)

Make sure to try playing 1P vs. 2P with a friend and try the Secrets/Cheats out. It is really fun to control a Machine character like Macer and just run over your friends Bots!

Far too complicated. I am not sure people are prepared for three pages of instructions, followed by a maze of menu's and displays. The graphics aren't bad in themselves, but they lack a certain CHUTZPAH. Sorry, can't hear the sounds...
I just don't have the patience or time to sit down for 20 minutes of instructions. If you find yourself getting low ratings, that is probably why...

out of 10...
gfx - 7 (decent, but lackluster)
sfx - N/A (can't hear it)
design - 6 (poor navigation, too many rules)
gameplay - N/A (couldn't figure it out)

It is actually pretty easy to play. You click an action, click your character, then click the pads that are displayed.

I'm not sure why you don't hear the sound effects. I just tried it on here and I could hear it fine or are you saying they are hard to hear?
