You are stuck inside a nightmare dream. Something lurks in the darkness... Something in the depths of your own mind wants to pull you even deeper. Someone will escape this dream for sure. The question is - who is that going to be?

*SPOILERS*
@vyse195: I haven't finished the game yet, but I think the person talking on the phone is YOU-- they're saying "wake up" over and over. And I'm pretty sure the note is referring to what's often called "lucid dreaming"-- a kind of dream that some people either have naturally or can train themselves to have, where they are asleep and dreaming, but can actually gain either partial or complete control of the dream. As far as I'm aware, it is an actual, scientifically validated phenomenon, and is often used for things like mental practice (by athletes and performers), or resolving internal conflicts or stressors-- for instance, by giving yourself the ability to change the ending of a recurring nightmare (or even a recurring real life situation).
I am not the author/artist, however... that was just my interpretation of what's going on, and it's been quite awhile since I've even read about lucid dreaming, so some of my info may be slightly off or out of date. I recommend looking it up on Wikipedia or something if you're interested in learning more.
*END SPOILER*
...great game so far, still playing, but... Love the creepy atmosphere, and the nightmare-like changes. So far nothing has (technically) jumped out at me, but still the telephone, the furnace, and the change in the bedroom at the very beginning... spooky but awesome! (I think the bedroom and the telephone are my favorites so far.)

i got stuck twice once to find out there was a number in the furnace. and you can combine the hook and net, other than that i got thought it ok, i want a squeal and find out what those monsters were, if they were real
all things considered I found this game great, a little short, and I dont understand who was talking on the phone(or who turn the tape recorder on) or what the note meant by "Control over your dream"
