Sheer awesomeness
i normally don't like super difficult games, but the characters were interesting enough to keep me going. i got a feeling of satisfaction after beating it with 850+ lives!
my only complaint is the first lvl(1,1). same with lvl 2, lvl 2-1 was alot harder than 2-2, 2-3 2-4. since yu had to get the patterns of all 3 ghost types in the first lvl and only 1 or 2 types on the others.. i literally walked through 2-2...
also, sometimes with the swinging axes, i would be safe on one pass then when the axe came back around i died.. without moving from the spot i was in, i think the axes have slightly longer range on the downswing...

The music made the game for me, timing is more fun when you have a beat:D
I wanna see more!! who's the hooded girl?

Ok, finished the game... 840~ lifes left, 5 secs between each death in lvl 1.1, thats like 2 and a half hours of dying... this is gonna take a while xD

Nevertheless this was an awesome game :D, loved the music!

I have to say, this was really challenging -- a bit too challenging. Everything else was pretty fine. I was lucky enough to beat the game with about 200 lives lost, but the difficulty level needs some toning down a bit. Majority of the extra lives I lost were from Level 2-1, lol.

That's why there's a Medal for it. Glad you liked it.

Love the originality and art style :)

However, I do have an issue with the VO's and punctuation... But those are minor compared to the amount of effort and creativity involved in this game. Would love to see it on Steam ;)

My dream is for Desutori to reach Steam, but I've always wanted try to put it up on a few indie stores, if enough people like it. (Wouldn't be the same version of course, maybe an HD remix with at least 2 more worlds).

I'm not normally a fan of these kinds of games but this was surprisingly good. Unlike a lot of extremely difficult platformers, this one really is quite possible if you just remember that it's about two things: Pattern memorization and timing. Everything (Even those spirits in world 2. Watch them closely) moves in a specific pattern and you need to be able to move at the right time. I was even able to get through one level without dying by just paying attention.

In regards to flaws, the difficulty curve can be a little weird on occasion. For instance, I actually found some of the world 1 levels to be harder than some of the world 3 levels and world 2-1 was probably the hardest level in the game. Maybe I'm just better at dealing with certain obstacles than others.

As for other issues, I'm going to need to get into *SPOILER* territory for this...

There's a bug soon after you give Venus the last 12 crystals. Obviously, things go wrong but then there's this weird flash of activity as she speaks and it showed my life counter rapidly decreasing. It was disturbing enough that I thought it was intentional until I noticed I actually lost around 50 lives. I get the feeling that this was a bug.

Also, we really didn't get any answers regarding that mysterious hooded girl aside from what she looks like (I honestly was expecting a future version of our heroine under the hood. It would explain how she knows so much). Considering you're talking about a sequel in some of your responses, I suspect that might be answered there.

Every single enemy is done with love and care. I am glad you noticed this, this is a special kind of game, but you can rush through it, you just gonna know how!

I kinda wish people would speedrun it, I think it has potential of being a speedrun game.

Thanks for the review, SolidSalamander!
