I've been playing around with procedural generation.

Briefly it's sandbox + simulation. See controls at the start.

R - generate new map
I - turn on/off info
Space - help

This is pretty awesome to just play around with and such. It's a good start certainly, but now you should build on it and turn into something really cool. Perhaps you could build a simulation where you manage resources to develop a civilization in competition with others, fighting wars and surviving a myriad of natural disasters.

You are only down by one star for not making this into a full game. Get on it man!

Also, is it just me, or does this feel a lot like Dwarf Fortress's world generator? Did you actually use that as an influence at all? Because the similarity is a bit striking.

I think you should add blue people who have wars with the pink dudes, and boats if thats not to hard.
other than that, this game looks perfect.

Great game! However, one thing does need to be added: A fast-forward button. I love how realistic the game is and I'm really curious on how you generate random names whenever someone is born.

I give this a 4.5 but I would like a little more options such as farms, thunder-storms, vegetation, hospitals, etc....

I wish there were more games like this, one of the few problems I can find with it that hasn't been said already was the fact that the screen was so small. It's great that you can keep track of individual members of towns, but it sucks that each person is about one pixel large. If there was a zoom option the game would be a LOT easier to play and in my opinion would make it far more enjoyable.

A very good simulation, however it has shortcomings. Starvation is rampant, even when the island is literally dominated by trees and the cities full of food. Isn't a bit odd to have 500 people on an island, with three cities with 1300 food, and yet starvation is a crisis? I think implementing farming, fishing, and animal raising would be a good add-on, and would lessen the unbelievable dependence on trees.

I like the meteors :). Most people complain about them, but I noticed that meteors only target barren, de-populated cities, and only kill those who happen to be under the meteor by accidental wandering. It's a nice way to clean up the island. I like how flooding is possible too.

What I'd like to see is the people being able to sustain themselves (e.g farming, fishing, etc... as said before), start cities, and form factions and nations. Later on you could add revolutions and wars and such. Maybe another French Revolution will give these little guys a drive to actually eat for once ;).

3.5 stars out of 5, which is good, and this game has lots of potential!
