So it has been another rough month, and I've been rather negative and pessimistic this whole time. Although I know there are some obvious flaws with this video, I'm going to use this space to say what I actually like about it for once.

1. I tried a different art style, and I think it worked out fairly nicely.
2. I managed to completely change the genre of the movie from a comedy to something more serious in about five days, and it came out a bit better than I anticipated.
3. Although not all the sections are frame-by-framed, I am proud of how smooth certain scenes (like the one where he is standing by the car) turned out when viewed simply for the animation quality.
4. I also redid the music a few times because of the change of genre. I like how that turned out.
5. I made a fully functional 3d rig in Blender for the main character. Although I didn't actually end up using it at all, it's the first time I've done that from scratch.

yeah so thanks for listening and supporting me so far in NATA.

edit: new, less boring thumbnail. also an easter egg in the credits.

Great job, I loved the new style. I'd have to say this animation sums up all my current feelings with work and life at the moment. The last 5 months of my life have felt like a blur and I really feel like I'm missing out on other important things or parts of my life I used to enjoy have deteriorated. Keep up the great work!

I think there was some kind of aesop, but it wasn't clear, or at least it was too straight I hardly acept it as it is. I do believe that even on your "tragic" or sad ending animations, you tend to see stuff on a idealistic perspective, and follow a similar pattern. That is, if the character had decided to do A, everything would be fine, or everything is fine cause the protagonist embraced A at the end. But overall the concept and that change of style were done right (I do like more your last one). Seeing how much detail the animation and the planning itself had, you certainly are one of the best contenders this year without doubt.

Hope you win and turn up as the next year guest judge!

Very nice work on this Pahgawk. I really liked the new style you experimented. I think it works very well! I am always astounded at what you constantly produce, especially at a young age. Keep at it bro! You an inspirational fellow too many. Boy oh boy, this NATA tourney is getting even more spicy than it usually is!

love the new art style
and mabe im just stupid but I dont get it

Pahgawk responds:

No you're not stupid, it's my job as the animator to get the point across and I know I didn't make it as clear as it needed to be. Basically the protagonist was just ignoring the more important aspects of life and then this manifests itself by having these parts literally fade away until there's nothing left and the protagonist realizes the importance of what he is missing.
