Oh look a platformer. I'm sure you can beat all the rooms. That's cool. Can you beat the game though?

Because those are two very different things in this game.

This is a bit of an experiment and I'm hoping people will enjoy it. It's more of a short story than a game really. But there is a way to beat it, there is an ending. Please let me know if you find it, I'd love to hear it :)

Awesome! I like the retro style the game visuals have, Tetris is one of my favorite games so I liked every bit of this game. I was only sent back once and on my second play through I found the real exit. The hints gave the exit away for me, must be my hobby of riddles and puzzles. Anyways great game, had fun and I look forward to another game from you.

Good execution, nice and short. Lacking of a general concept, however, and although the dialogue in the boxes was helpful in getting you out... most particularly since the most helpful piece of information is in where you need it the most, it still is kind of something pulled out of your ass. I mean, at first I thought you should getter on a higher area to bring the screen up because the screen follows your character somewhat, and I figured, well hell, that would make sense to see the off button, but instead it was a hidden wall which if there was a hint at *walking through walls* this would have made sense, but there isn't.

I knew you had to get out of the game, but how wasn't quite simple, so I decided to jump forward in that room and luck was with me.

So generally you don't display a good enough hinting system, you introduce game elements and rank the difficulty quickly, but it becomes short and rather pointless because there are nothing good concept wise.

So concept is terrible, but the execution still fantastic.

Jolty controls with shit slide make you feel in danger constantly of dying and though you wish not to die you don't make it easy not to. Getting outside of the game uses an old gaming trick of invisible passages that many people tend to favor. Though I don't like your "hinting" system to use the secret passage I must say, I'm a sucker for them anyway. And although you lacked concept, I did find that turning off the game to end it was interesting if not obvious after the first run.

But then again, why should I complain? It was short, and that's nice sometimes.

How do I start?
The game itself was, as many have told, short.
The controls were a bit frustrating when you jumped touching a wall since it would occasionally stop in the middle of the jump.
Also, mid-air control or controlling the character while jumping repeatedly was a bit strange. It would some times keep the momentum after touching the floor and move a bit and sometimes it would just stop after touching the floor. Whichever was the intended way, this inconsistency was somewhat problematic at some points since I had no idea how the character would react next.
If you are planning on improvements I have a some advices:
- Make it a bit longer. The concept for that "true" ending of the game is not new, but it really took me by surprise and I liked it.
- PLEASE, make the text slower. English is not my first language and I repeatedly had to suicide just to see the text again (I like games a lot more for the story). This tendency to suicide in this game made me discover the "true" ending by mistake while killing my self repeatedly in that room. That was on my first run and before I actually made a cycle of the game, so I had little clue of what just happened and kind of ruined the intended mood (I think that's not the best word choice, but I think the point can be understood).
- Regarding the last point. Since I made that mistake on the first try, I wanted to repeat the game again to see the entire story, but after reaching that end, there is no replay button - or at the very least I'm awfully bad at finding it - and the page has to be reloaded. It would be a nice addition a replay button at the end.
Overall, the game was enjoyable and a nice way to pass 5 minutes. I liked it.
