Starring Young Kajortoq (Kitty). I wish to do several Fables , North American Native Myths, Mesoamerican Myths and even some Tall Tales using my little cast of Fuzz-Butts. And this would be the first (wanted to give it a whorl with something short and Easy).

The lovely thing about Aesop Fables is that they are so dang short and vague You can faff with the feeling they instil. One usually assumes the Fox character is lazy and inherently contemptuous. But with most folk, they don't come to the level of Feeling contempt for the things they want (as is the moral) until quite desperate.... So I tried to make this seem very pathetic. As for the indiscriminate Black evil Ick.... Thaaat actually is in reference to more stuff that will be for a wider story and it's characters, it is enough to know it's dangerous.

Yes I'm working on SSSDC 4..... It has been tough to organize Voice recording during the busy summer.

A nice sad animation...
Can't really see the reason some people are bitchin' around about this.

Decently animated, however the changes you've made to the original fable completely ruin the message it has. Given that the black stuff is the only reason the fox couldn't reach the grapes as otherwise she could have climbed the tree using her anthro body, it's only natural that her hatred would be for the black goo and not the grapes. The original fable works because the fox could have never reached the grapes no matter what he did, and because the only thing that stopped him was his own physical limitations he has that feeling of cognitive dissonance.

If you're going to be doing more of these, understand that the fables are formatted the way they are for a reason, and try not to undermine their message with unnecessary changes.

Warlord-of-Noodles responds:

Dozens (mayhaps, hundreds) of people havbe already done the basic fable. Growth comes of trying to shine new light on an old concept. The message "Contempt for the unattainable" is maintained, that was important as it is incite into the character of Kajortoq. The only thing I changed from the original is the obstacle. And as I said, this is a branch of a larger story I plan to tell. This is a teaser using a very BASIC fable as an outline. If you're going to have a fit over this, you should probably stay away from my stuff here because I LOVE rethinking and mixing myth and shall be doing it frequently. I don't want to tell a story that's already been told in it's perfection, I want to reference them and force people to look at the original. Like "hey if you like my story maybe you'll like the classic from hence it's derived."
