I kinda liked it. One suggestion I'd make though is to be able to move while attacking because stopping for every attack makes combat choppy.
The enemies in this game make it less fun. Bats are fine, but they seem to not get hit half the time. Rocks are assholes always, and take 4 hits to kill. You're lucky if you kill one without getting hit once. Why did you make a room with 10 of them in it?
Other than that, it's an okay game. Checkpoints would have made it much more enjoyable.

Needs checkpoints. That final boss isnt worth a 5 minute trek each time you lose to him, since he takes so many hits to bring down.
This is a great and fun game and it would be wonderful to see a sequel to it.
I would add some different weapons, a pack to store additional hearts/weapons and different enemies.
But I have to ask: For this game, how many total hearts are there and how many times do you have to hit the main boss until you win?
