EDIT: Ver 1.5 is up. I've tweaked the running and braking a little. Movement should be more fluid now. I've also enlarged the offscreen window, so NPC popup should be nonexistant now. Enjoy and keep up with the feedback!

Sorry for the outline thing. It won't appear again.

LEFT and RIGHT ARROW to move
Z to jump, double jump and glide

Nice stuff!! feels like a real 16bit classic back in the day!

Fantastic Game. I'm giving it 4.5 stars because I do have a few gripes

Gripe 1: The controls can be a tad messy. Not a huge deal, but I felt I didn't have as much control as I wanted. The game could be laggy sometimes, which is something many games are guilty of, but it seemed like the jumps could be all over the place sometimes and running to get coins could sometimes be crazy as well. Maybe it's my browser though.(I use Google Chrome)

Gripe 2: Although the game was fun, it was really short for me. I found all of the treasures, perfected all the coin runs, and beat the game in just over an hour. There were only 2 enemies and they were very easy to kill. There were only 2 other things that could hurt you and I don't want to spoil it for anybody but the author should know what I'm talking about.

Gripe 3: The story was lackluster in my opinion. I didn't really care if the main character were to die or get raped by a gnome army. There was no real antagonist to look forward to fighting. I understand that the goal of the game was more geared toward finding treasures, but a stronger plot with a villain or rival could have made it so much better.

The game has so much potential and I'm hoping for some kind of sequel or a game similar to it, just with more detail and better controls. Maybe with some other cool mechanics? More enemies, more treasure that are harder to find, more coin runs, and more obstacles.

Nevertheless, this is a great game. Kudos to the author. I don't want to hand out a 5 star rating to a game that I feel can be improved, but with some changes this game I would consider buying this game on XBLA or The 3DS online store.

Dude, I am surprised that this does not have a higher score! This is one of the most awesome games I've played in a long time! I think the main reason it works so well is because there's so many different ways to play! It's just a very pleasant family friendly game too. There's no enemies (so far) for you to stomp on and kill. Even the music is delightful.

This is one of those rare games that's just fun for everyone! I liked how you worked so hard in creating this awesome world. There's even a wonderful way of collecting medals. It's just a wonderful game from beginning to end! I guess you're British or something. The graphics are also wonderfully detailed.

I love this game, because it shows itself as a very keen, fun, quirky, adventurous platformer. The music in this game is very beautiful, giving the player a calm, serenic atmosphere. I love how the game is reminiscent of Great Cave Offensive from Kirby Superstar, in which you collect treasures scattered around the game.

Our main character is another silent protagonist, but that's not really a bad thing. After all, it shows her as a quiet but brave adventurer looking for treasure. The people in the town aren't necessarily memorable, but they make interesting small talk and tell you about the Cave up ahead. What's memorable are the constant gnomes, who although only appear for a portion of the game, are very weird and charming as you explore their "gnomeship". The Almighty Spirits are fun too, what with their ability to teach you new skills (and mess up, as seen by the F.I.S.T. teacher).

The game is colorful and pixelated: Two traits that I definitely give a plus to. It's also open-ended in the way you explore, but not too linear or straightforward. This is good for players like me because too many false pathways leads to confusion and too linear doesn't give an "exploration feel".

Coin races in this game are fun as well. They give the player a challenge to try to collect all the coins before the time is up. Of course, some can be a pain to collect (such as the Creepy Tree's coins) but the timer's pretty forgiving and not a "every second counts" kind of ordeal.

The only negative thing I have to say is that the controls sometimes feel a bit buggy, such as jumping to another destination and the game starts to "weird out" a bit, but that's minor compared to how wonderful the gameplay/idea is. With fun treasures to find, solid races and powerups, and quirky secrets and dialogue, this game is an easy 5 stars, begging the question: When is the sequel (with our "Hidden Legend")?

I found a weird trick/glitch. If you glide onto a slanted watery area, you will slide up the ramp then hover without losing height for awhile.
