Personally, I like this series. Sure, the animation is mostly tweens, the characters joints/body parts look like symbols over layers, and the lip syncing is lazily done; however, I find this is a different classification on how cartoons are done nowadays. Anyone to say this takes less talent is wrong because a lot of successful cartoons are the exact same way--sometimes it just works.
The style of this cartoon may be, as some might say, "lazy", but in order for a series--web series especially--to come out with new episodes every week some sacrifices must be made. Animation takes a lot of time and labor; it's either hire inbetweeners or more animators, or just do some "lazy" animation.
Now, the only thing I don't like about the "lazy animating" is the mouth syncing/movements. I mean, it could be done a lot better than stretching and scewing the mouth for an entire word or part of a sentence. I find lip syncing one of the most important things on a character.
Other than that, the backgrounds are awesome, the plot has an open door for ideas, and the humor is above average. The voice acting is nice, the designs are great, and the mixed genre (from comedy, to action, to comedy) is great. I really want to see more episodes! This series is pretty good so far!
Thanks for the comment. Glad you get where we're coming from. We spent quite a bit of time figuring out the best production process that worked for us. Everyone has their own approach and this is what ended up working for us. Cheers!
That guy with the red red shirt was enjoying himself.
please dont rush these
Roger that. These shorts aren't so much as rushed as little short test runs of particular ideas or gags or animation techniques to see what works and what doesn't. Thanks for checking us out. We think you're going to like our last two shorts ...
slapping slug...a slug that slaps people? oh, he gets slapped because of the slug...the last two videos were better.
More great animation, very slick. Still not a whole lotta jokes, but the slapstick wasn't bad at all-- it really plays to your strength of good animation and artwork. The faces were pretty good as well.
