I've been experimenting a LOT with flash and here's my first stab at a decent lengthly action flash animation, Hopefully you will enjoy it, give me constructive critism & Advice on how to improve. Thanks for watching and don't be too harsh.

This flash is Short btw so dont expect a long flash movie, If this is successful & you guys enjoy it I will try my best to make something a bit better next time.

Update: Never thought this animation would do this well thanks for the ratings everyone and have a good day!

Update: I'm currently working on other stuff so keep viewing my content.

I rather liked it. I browsed through the other reviews, so I know you are aware of the speed, which needs to be increased. The background was another thing. Since the stickmen appeared to have the ability to fly/levitate, the platform background was not as necessary. Even though it is more work, backgrounds that are cities, or at least more recognizable, have a greater impact on the viewer when they are destroyed. For example, magic grey platform being destroyed has a lot less of an impact than a house being destroyed. Multiple locations can also help. But it is much more work than just one background. If you do it, it helps give your viewers a greater sense of motion and makes your world seem bigger. As for the actual fighting graphics, I thought they were pretty good. I especially liked the meteors.

The music was good too. A good soundtrack really goes a long way helping fighting scenes. You have a good ear for them, or at least an ear that matches mine.

One last thing is the addition of a story. Although they are somewhat rarer, and less expected in Stickman animations, they can still help your video's quality and help it appeal to a wider audience. By giving slight characterization you make the fight mean something, instead of "Aw, sweet, explosions".

Well, I hope at least one person read through this word explosion. Do make more videos, as this one was pretty good for a first.

Thanks for the feedback and cheers for the advice on how to improve, Have a good day sir. :D

Pretty good for a beginner in Flash, it's cool, the animation need's to be faster though, I felt that the figure's moved way to slow, like when the red guy was falling it was slow, other then that it's pretty cool.

Phantom999 responds:

Thanks for the feedback, and yeah I know what you mean :D

for the first try... not bad. the effects are great, just need a little bit more work on the stick figure's movements (add more details of the running, punches etc.)

Phantom999 responds:

Cheers, thanks for the feedback, I'm still trying to improve my movement for stickfigures as it's something I'm bad at :P

Nothing too new or interesting with very little to separate it from the literally thousands of animations of the same type. Red vs. Blue stick fighting is arguable the most cliche, overused genre on Newgrounds.

Despite its lack of originality, this is not a terrible flash. Most of the fighting was mediocre, awkward, generic, and ultimately very average looking. Movement was not particularly crisp and I would not use the word 'smooth' to describe any of the action. That said, some sequences were very well done (particularly the meteor strike).

Overall:
This is an average flash based around an overused style. The redeeming qualities are few and far between, but the good parts are enough for me to pass it.

Phantom999 responds:

Thanks man, I know it's slightly cliche, It's really because I've been practising a lot with stick figure animations, thanks for the feedback and Yeah Il'l keep at it.

It's not bad, good art, the biggest gripe I have is that it is really slow. Fight animations ahould be real fast pace and energetic. Keep at it though.

Phantom999 responds:

Thanks for the review and cheers for the compliments and improvements you've given me. :P
