Note: To move diagonally use either Numpad 7912 or the keys 79jl. You can also redefine the keys in-game.
Update 16-07-2012, v. 1.1.8: Now, the first time you visit the title screen all of your medals should be reuploaded. By "the first time you visit" I mean first visit on each page refresh.
Beethro Budkin, fifth-generation professional dungeon exterminator, was hired by King Dugan to clear the king's multi-level dungeon of a large monster infestation. Beethro charges by the room, and as a professional, he is contract-bound to clear all the monsters from each and every room in the dungeon to get paid. The only weapon Beethro needs to do his job is a Really Big Sword(tm), which will defeat almost any monster in a single hit.
Your objective is to clear each level of King Dugan's Dungeon of monsters. This feat can be accomplished using only your Really Big Sword(tm) and your wits. Each room is a separate area that has to be cleared in a single session. Should you leave a room without completely clearing it, it will be restored to its initial state when you return.
Compete against players from all over the world, going for best score in each room by completing it in the fewest number of moves. To have your scores submitted to the leaderboards, register a user account on the Caravel Forum and provide your username in the Options menu. By default, free account score submissions will remain for two weeks. Purchasing a CaravelNet membership will make them permanent. With a CaravelNet membership, retrieve a CaravelNet Key from your forum user profile, and enter it in alongside your username on the Options menu. If you do not type in the details, you will be only notified what place your score would've attained (so-called anonymous scores).

It's a great game since i'm at the beginning i'm stuck and I can't move those rocks so I quit playing. Even though I want to continue playing i'm still stuck and can't get far.

This is a great game, are you thinking about making flash versions of the other two King Dugan's episodes?
Thanks! There is already KDDL 2 and 3 available on Caravelgames.com, KDDL 4-6 are in working. There is an idea to make a flash version of the JtrH and TCB demo but I am afraid it is pretty unlikely to happen.

Excellent puzzle game!
This is a new and vibrant kind of puzzle game that has so much scope for development.
It feels like someone hated chess (just like me) and decided a complete overhaul and made it fun.
I enjoyed thinking for tens of minutes and trying again and again till I finished the level.
Some of the levels were really difficult and I confess I used external help for those.
I don't have a single complaint with the game itself.
The undo feature was an absolute necessity however, I would have liked it to store my previous 5 steps instead of 3.
And somehow, the achievements register just fine but some of the medals (including the most difficult ones) don't. And I don't want to erase my data and play all over again to try for those. So, can you include an achievement verification every time a start the game that will update the medals accordingly?
Great game altogether, I hope you post the sequels soon with plenty more medals to go around.
Cheers !
Actually they should register on the first title screen visit or so (I don't exactly remember right now). I'll look into it right now, but if it would be possible for you to PM me a list of those which haven't recorded properly?
Or nevermind, just checked, it doesn't. I will update the file in a few minutes!

I thought the layout of this game was pretty cool, but there was one main problem. I was not able to move diagonally and I couldn't get even advance even the slighest bit! I mean, I looked through the instructions and I simply couldn't find anything to help me. It seems like I'm not the only person having troubles with the controls. I do like the controls that I can understand. It's really cool to use the sword.
I think you just have to keep on hitting the "Q" and "W" to go in the same direction. It seems to change too much. Hopefully, people who were able to understand it will enjoy it a lot more. The name was also pretty weird. I guess there have been worse things in games here.

i can not close the options menu and i can not start this game. strange, i have the newest version of flash player and my pc is new...i use mozilla fire fox and i have windows 7.
There has been a similar problem with Chrome - this might be cause by playing in Private browser mode, which make it impossible for the Flash Player to inquire the user about "allowing the saves to be saved to flash cookies" and the Flash Player just kinds gets crazy and makes the whole app unresponsive.
