Good game, everyone else has said why. I particularly like the way your base is actually a moving battle station, actually blasting it's way through your enemies, rather than waiting for them to come to it.
One star off because of the excessive grinding required to finish the game (which no, I haven't done yet).
A few suggestions to improve gameplay:
1. have keyboard shortcuts (1,2,3, etc.) for your special skills. Rather than only having the skills appear when you click on the screen, the skill bar should always be visible in the corner somewhere so you can see which skills are ready or still cooling down. Also, why limit to 5 or so skills on the bar at a time? At least let the player buy more slots.
2. You shouldn't need a special skill to aim your weapons. For example, press spacebar could activate aim mode, where all your weapons aim at your mouse cursor. Spacebar again to return to regular mode. Or gemcraft style, where you click on an enemy and all your weapons target it.
3. An easier way to re-arrange your weapons. Allow you to move stuff around when the game is paused? Allow for saved weapons layouts, which you can select from mid-game?
still a great game, though it's weird it's only now on newgrounds, i mean it's been on kongregate for months now.
product is still amazing, the only tower defense game that ever interested me. nice graphics, great music, great gameplay and mechanics.
also, for everyone, there are rare units that you can get, which are super-powerful. these units randomly appear on the map in the form of an icon (like ''defensive walls'' and ''sanctum beacons''. you've probably already found one or a couple of these already).
also, go into options and put the difficulty to '''hard''. you'll get way more money for bonuses and it's the only way to get the achievements for getting ultimate and ridiculous rankings.

I personally have nothing against this game and I am surprised by just how innovative this game really is in the sense of being a tower defense type. Everything from the real-time strategy needed by the placement and upgrading of towers during battles as well as the use of bonus attacks and defense set-ups. Heck, even the save system is majorly different from other games with the addition of a text-save feature. Even though the visual aspects are not refined as other games may be, the gameplay more than makes up for it and I kind of like this style anyway! I am certainly glad to have stumbled across this game on the portal.
