coolest game ever, im going to dream about it! maybe it will get rid of the nightmares i had about the game Polybius i played
The game isn't meant to be difficult, the way I see it. It's meant to be a good laugh, destroying everything as a giant worm. It's not meant to challenge the player, it's meant to be simple, easy fun. And the upgrades also reflect that - Why would I just want to increase speed/health every time, when I can get frikkin' blood claws, spikes and vacuums - it's all about ridiculous fun.
I think this one was far more fun than the first, a great improvement. Also, the upgrades made visible differences, so I could SEE my worm becoming better and more powerful. The controls seemed fine to me too, with the unwieldiness of them towards the end being not only reasonable, but expected and executed well. I enjoyed this game from start to finish, and will likely play again to choose an alternate evolutionary path.
Ok wow...I'm sorry but this is not that great. And compared to the first one it is even worse.
The main thing for me was the difficulty, which seemed to be set on Toby Turner easy. I literally, for every level, just coasted above the surface. The only time I was in the ground was at the beginning of each level when it started me there. Really, the game was more of jumping out of the ground then just holding right (or left) while making sure to push up every now and then.
Also, in the first game (from my experience) when you had a chance to upgrades your choices mostly gave you either health or speed. In this one they seemed a bit...overpowered, and if not that than just pointless. The first game took some actual thought when picking an upgrade...do I want to be faster so I can take down more enemies or escape in the ground faster if need-be, or do I want to have more health so I can take more damage? In this one there were choices to let more things heal you (overpowered) or you could pick one to give you a higher jump (you know...to get all those bad guys up in the clouds *sarcasm*)
To me...it seems this game should have stayed at just the 1st one.
2k combo score i double dare you
the controls just weren't working for me. it would have been much more fun if the game didn't feel like it was trying to play itself by fighting me for control. it was like it wouldn't turn for me at some points or at other points, it was turning too much so it kept going around it circles. the acceleration wasn't working quite right either but that was probably because the turning controls were interfering. of course thats what i was experiencing.
