As you probably noticed, the ending seems a bit sudden, or even rushed. Sorry for that, had the story planned out, but forgot I actually was gone for a good week... kinda ruined the entire thing making it seem too random or incomprehensable, really. Bummer.

A day in the lives of the Sun and the Moon, companions in their sad, lonely little lives.

Decent.

This film is a curious one. It had good potential as a concept, but I don't feel it really turned out as it should have. The story was very hard to follow, at least for me. The animation was decent, but certainly not perfect, nor particularly unique either.

Better luck with your next animation.

I agree. Thanks.

I didnt notcie that there was a ruch at all. i really liked it. And felt the graphics and everything was very nicely done.

The concept is very creative, but like you said it ended randomly, you didnt finish what you set out to do. You set out to personify the moon and sun and gave them characteristics, animated what how they would spend a day. The animation started out really strong, I loved the part were the sun pointed up as in taking the elevator up and moon wanted to go down. The sun seemed way to dominate, perhaps because he was angry and the moon picked up after him.

It's a real shame this only has one review because i thought it was brilliant! The first thing that struck me was the interesting character design. I felt it had a very greek feel to it but i don't really know anything about greece i don't why. The personification of the sun and moon in to an office setting was highly original and your use of sound effects was lovely too. The music and the art style produced an excellent and engaging mood that immediately had me hooked and draw in to the world. I really can't think of much to criticize, the heads always being side on was perhaps a little awkward but i loved how you animated the turning around as a rotation. Very cool!
The story was definitely a little hard to follow and i never understood the point of conflict between the clouds and the sun nor why he got so angry. Perhaps some subtitles would be nice, but then again that might ruin some of the ambiguity and generality of the plot. Lot's of nice transitions (i especially liked the pan up from the basement to the water cooler). All in all definitely one of the most enjoyable flashes i've seen a good while. Keep it up!

DieterTheuns responds:

Thanks for the review :)

All credit for sound goes to codeblackhayate though. She really bailed me out and did so with amazing material. I do realize the story feels a little rushed at times, which deeply hurts it. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it ^^

The story is good... You are right about the ending but I really didn't understand exactly what was happening half the time. Maybe you can make a two part movie next time about only the sun, and then another about only moon and establish a background to the characters. But you could definitely use this as a springboard for more projects.

DieterTheuns responds:

Definitely, I plan on redoing this entire movie one day, with some actual writing involved. This was merely a case of very poor timing.
