This was the first flash animation I ever made. I made it for my multimedia class which was instructed by teacher who knew less about animation than I did. It took much longer than it should have; since then I have improved by leaps and bounds.

Interestingly, all the other projects in my class were

In the state competition there weren't many 2d animations; in fact, most of the animations were stop motion. Three used lego minifigures, and if you read my first review you'll know my opinion on those. Mine came first among the 2d entries and third overall, which astounded me because, since this was months ago, I have improved so much that I realize how bad this is.

Well, it isn't really bad, but it doesn't take advantage of motion, so it isn't very good as an animation.

You probably don't understand the movie. The idea is a seed created a tree which created an apple which created inspiration for Newton who created writing which created inspiration for Einstein who created an equation which created the atomic bomb which destroyed Hiroshima causing it to create a movement for world peace. Understand it now?

Although I can see what you mean about the quality, I can also understand why you were ranked so highly

The music was nice and added atmosphere, and although the lines were a bit jerky, the animation was pretty smooth.

However, I think that the concept, of small things growing, and eventually becoming something huge, was an interesting thought, and definitely inspiring.

Nicely done! Fantastic for a first animation!

Three main thoughts on this.

You won 3rd best animation of the state? Sort of curious, what grade level? Either way, lucky you!
An apple tree created a movement for world peace, but also created an atomic bomb? Hmm...
Actually, there is no evidence to suggest that Isaac Newton got his idea from a falling apple.

I made this in eighth grade for the Middle school division. As of 6/8/10 I am leaving eighth grade and entering ninth. I am aware of the historical inaccuracies. You are right that Newton and the apple is probably just a myth, Einstein also thought of e=mc2 while he was much younger than he is shown in the video.
