An experimental indie art game where the player must discover its purpose.

The game does have an ending. Can you find it?

This is my first submission to the site, although I've been using Newgrounds for a very long time. I already know how I feel about the game, so anything you have to say about it - good, bad, observationary, whatever - is appreciated.

Still a bit confused as to what I did to win. I just happened to have won on my first try. Didn't make a good shelter or anything... The controlling the extremely strange, seeing as I can only move in diagonals...I can keep dying and coming back as the man without ever getting the "curious" medal. If there was a bit more info than just "create shelter" and use arrow keys, it might be more interesting. 2.5/5 for coming up with something original though, and that could be developed into something a bit more refined.

Thanks for the feedback!

If the concept can be refined, someone else will have to do it. I thought about adding more levels or expanding the game play, but ultimately decided that would only cheapen what I had produced.

The curious medal is still hiding in there, somewhere :)

Pretty good.. letting the gamers figure it out for themselves is a good concept for an art game.
I liked the music also.
You could have added a Play again button though.
And i couldn't figure out the Curious medal.

Thanks for the feedback!

I considered a "play again" button, but given how small the game is, I ultimately decided against it. I may end up adding one if enough people ask for it.

The curious medal is hiding about. Although, I want people to play the game because they enjoy it, not because they want to find all of the medals.

Seems dull. Also, there doesn't seem to be a link to your page anywhere in it, which makes the Guest medal impossible to obtain.

TheAdventMaster responds:

Thanks for your feedback!

The guest medal is indeed claimable. Just like the game's ending, the guest medal seems super obvious once you find it.

I'll start with the good.

1. The art not bad.
2. It works and seems to be technically sound.

Now the stuff I didn't like

1. I had no real idea what I was suppose to do. It wasn't expressed anywhere. Am I suppose to catch the black squares? Am I suppose to build a stairway? Am I suppose to reach the top? Oh look I turned into a little man now what? Well since the black dots turned me into a little man maybe more black dots turn me to something different. A defined goal and an explanation of what is good bad and the goal is really needed. I didn't get past the first part of the game for that reason.

Observational
The blocks if you press up down left or right go at a diagonal. I assume this was intentional.

Hope this helps

TheAdventMaster responds:

That was excellent feedback. Yes, a lot of people have difficulty with the game because players are expected to figure out what to do themselves.

I'll note that the game gives you hints and that once you find the solution, it's painfully obvious.

Interesting game, despite being slightly tedious.

TheAdventMaster responds:

Thanks for the feedback! Did you manage to beat it, by any chance?
