So, finally cranked out Episode 4.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about the story so far, and the original TTA that this is a revamp of. While you are doing your best to retell the story, I feel you are, at the same time, drifting away slightly. Though it is nice to see updated graphics, and with it bring new ideas and jokes, I wish for the series to remain true to its original. like vidzthief stated, working on single character development every episode is not a good way to move the series along, but rather, build on it as the MAIN story progresses. Since we're already at episode 4, I was expecting we'd be getting close to Zetto's debut in TOME, or at the least, episode 5.
Also, following vidzthief, we'd appreciate it if you gave us a little more detail about why Rockoon wasn't able to "hear things" after Alpha gave him the missing piece of the ear, and technical detials like that.

However, that said, it is still a great addition to the series, but please, save ideas like this for shorts or sub-episodes, so as not to detract from the storyline you have already set out in TTA.

Look, I love the idea that you are "reviving" TTA through TOME, but every episode I feel like my expectations are getting lower and lower. I will obviously continue following TOME no matter what as long as you work on it, but it's more because of TTA that I feel I do so than because of TOME per se. This may be only the 4th episode, and yet is is an FILLER EPISODE (and you know that). All episodes until now felt NOTHING like TTA, but like a better looking clone with the same characters and for kiddies.

Now, tell me what makes any story interesting to the viewer, regardless if it's next gen graphics, or the best voice casting of the world? STORYLINE. PLOT. CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT. Thrown together in a good pace and writting. I can't understand how your writting turned out to become so down-right ridiculous, I can't even grasp how the same writer who actually did TTA, a masterpiece of plot ideas, comes down to write such filler stories! You may excuse yourself saying you wanted to focus on the characters, their developement, etc. But there was a time you did all that and then some more perfectly: TTA felt smart, epic, edgy, and yet funny. It was just clever with all its twists and turns and its excellent pace. TOME feels just stupid. It does NOTHING to explain anything important at all (and even then, if you'd at least make more SHORTS if you think it'll take too long to explain things in the actual episodes), and even if you'd say it is to keep the suspense, IT'S EPISODE 4 ALREADY! Make the plot come into play already instead of throwing hints here and there nobody understand anyway and slowing down the actual storyline, which is what everybody's expecting! Make the characters develope DURING the happenings, not separately. Explain what the hell is happening (as for what the broken ear of the Shadow Guard Idol meant = for Rockoon to hack the item), and STOP being convenient (Alpha landing EXACTLY beside that tiny little ear piece? C'MON!). Play it smart, like you used to. Where's the problem with that?

About the graphics, none of us normal viewers care for real! They were excellent already for us on episode 1. If you update them for your fellow artists, great, everybody will be happy with better looks. But you just seem to loose precious time and episodes you could make instead faster to advance in the story. That was what you said you planned anyway, to pump this episodes regularly out.

All in all, I won't negate that TOME is probably the best flash series in actuallity on newgrounds. It has an IMMENSE potential, though you are shunning that in favor of eyecandy graphics and filler storylines. Come down to business, already!

The series truly gets better with every episode Kirb. The story is exciting, the characters and their emotions are believable, and the bits of comedy within make it a wonderful series. Even if the show goes on hiatus, I wouldn't mind waiting if every episode was of this episodes caliber.
Excellent work
