I like the game but there are a couple of things that annoy me, firstly; I don't see the point of giving my gladiators over double the speed of the opponents if they still cant attack first, and will not get extra attacks later on. Also regardless of my opponents strength, every time they use the throw attack it seems to hit for 200+ hp and never misses, both resulting in having to have ridiculously high level gladiators to get anywhere in the game
You know, this really is a great game. Wonderful RPG elements; classic turn-based battle; decent graphics, etc. I'm just so sick and tired of all the monetary-based motives. Sure, get your friends to join, but for what? Everything is all about money. It makes me sick.
I hope they fix shield bash because whenever the AI cast shield bash they cannot be hit especially in higher levels (e.g rome). Shield bash + regeneration makes the gladiator invincible (block + life regen). I just hope you'll take a look at that because it really pisses me off. The bugs/glitches really destroys this game.

Obviously, I'll be comparing Sands of Coliseum with Swords and Sandals, but let it be.
Starting with graphics and music - you've done incredible work. The interface, the characters, items and music - everything fits so good I can give you 3 stars just for that.
But that's all. Unlike Swords and Sandals, which still, was pretty inbalanced, your game is much more. Even with best wishes for your team (I damn loved every single game you've produced) I cannot cope with serious issues with the battle system.
Look: in Swords and Sandals every attribute enabled you to make a specific character - bruiser, mage, shooter/rogue or a bard. Each single one of them was quite balanced, (depending on SnS part, in first two bruiser and bard were favoured) and in SnS Gladiator/Ultralus it enabled for people to fight in really well-balanced multiplayer.
How's in Sands of Coliseum? Starting off with basic stats, Charisma, Speed and Vitality are pretty useless. Why's that? You get charisma from items, Speed only affects your place in a turn, not your turn frequency. And vitality is just useless because your armor takes all what you need to protect yourself, and the stats need to be placed in offence, not in defense.
So, the only obvious choices are Strength, (for any build) Dexterity, (for 2H Thraex build) and Defense (for tank builds, but I don't prefer them over 1H + shield with Strength)
Now, about the builds, you've made two completelly useless trees - Retariuss and Provocatores. There can be no good "support" character in this game.
After brief consideration I took for granted, that only Strength Murmillos (1H + shield) build is worth anything. Why's that? Because shields are overpowered in this game. With quick advancement, you can lay your hands on shields with 50+ % chance to block.
Then, the Execute/Mercy system is irritating. It is only good to take the crowd's choice, since you gain more MP level.
To sum up, you don't have what it takes to make a Sonny or any game like that. You need to remake or test your game more often before putting it in. Within one single class tree of Sonny I could name a few possible builds. Your game just lacks mechanic overthought.
