** 30,000 views! What a nice number. Thanks for playing, anyone who played!
**UPDATE 5/9 - Fixed a performance issue. Should run a little smoother. Also, frontpaged, woo-hoo!
**UPDATE 5/7 - Added "CTRL" as a run option for those with keyboard issues. This might have erased some people's data. I hope not, but if so I'm sorry :/ your scores/medals are of course still there.

Inspiration Dave is a platformer. You control a character on a mission to find inspiration through musical notes throughout whatever world he lives in - via going through 33 small platforming stages, with three goals: Finish the stage, collect all 20 notes, and finish the stage 100% very quickly! Only finishing the stage is necessary. There are unlockable secrets for how many notes you collect and stages you finish quickly. I wrote the soundtrack and created the graphics myself, for better or worse! :)
Controls: "/" denote any of the keys work.
X/J/UP/SPACE/W: Jump (tap/hold to change height)
CTRL/Z/K: Hold to run, cancel menu
SHIFT: Toggle "auto-run!" you'll always run with this on. Not advised as you will want more fine-tuned movement in some spots, but hey, do whatever.
left/right, or A/D: Move
DOWN/S: Enter door/interact
P: Pause, Q: Quit stage, R: Restart stage, M: Mute
Made over 12/11-3/12, but mostly 2012.

This game is simply addicting
I find myself retrying every time until I get the best 100% time, but until then, I can't move on.
The music/art/feel of the game is great, the story line is a bit "eh", which is why its only a 4.5 rating from me, but the game is incredible
Props to you man.
Yes, I agree, the story is somewhat...lacking! (It has some references to a band, but other than that is a bit, uh, tacked on!) Glad you liked it so much otherwise.

I must say that I really enjoy this game.
The graphics, sound, and overall feel of the game is very reminiscent of '90's SVGA games on the pc, which is a fond memory!
Keep up the great work and I really hope you make more gems like this one in the near future!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it so much and it gave you some happy nostalgia as well!

Good game i must say. The lvl count was like the original super mario bros. but the entering of stages resembled a sonic the hedgehog game. Interesting...
Glad you caught the sort of reference to those sorts of scene transitions. I would say sonic gave me the idea, which reminded me of Yoshi's island 2, and it was kind of ripped wholecloth from that <_<

Well, I personally really like most pixelated games. This game was fun but after playing the first 6 levels I lost interest. My suggestion would be longer, more entertaining levels in the beginning to hook the player. :) I liked the art and enjoyed your rebuttal of pin-head1's review. Yay! Keep on keeping on.
P.S. I just read some other reviews that talk about later levels in your game, so i'm gonna go back now and play all the way through. :)
Woo, great, glad you kept playing. Yeah, level design was sort of tough, as was pacing! ...I don't think I'm going to come back to platformers for a while, though. Glad you liked the rebuttal :P
