THANK YOU ALL FOR THE INPUT ON THIS ANIMATION! I have another (not good) animation that needs some desperate critique (lol, not all my animations can be like this one), and I would love any constructive crit on that one - ANYTHING helps, and negative is encouraged :)

Remember - any good input in that video helps me continue with this one ;)

ALSO, I WILL be adding a preloader and make it not loop, but it will have to wait until finals are over in a few weeks. Thank you for the suggestion on that!

This was created for my Advanced Drawing class. I was given the task to simply tell a story. I decided to take it further than just a few images and created the backbone to an animation: a storyboard. That being said, this is the reason the drawings are so simple/messy. I needed to get them all done in only a month, so I only had time to do the sketches. Hopefully in the future it will become a full animation ^^ And yes - this is my first attempt at this :)

Throughout the whole process I learned new things, which can be seen in the images themselves (the quality basically changes from image to image). But the top 3 important things I learned were these:

1. Don't edit a video in one night/for 12 hours straight (even though the sunrise was pretty).
2. If you're going to save your layers, then DON'T FLATTEN THE IMAGE YOU IDIOT!
3. Running sequences need to die.

Over the summer I plan on doing some more storyboards set to the music of Florence and the Machine, specifically "My Boy Builds Coffins".

Time taken: 150 hours (including illustrations not here)

also why did her eyes go from blue to pink?

they're pink at the beginning but then "a falling star fell from your heart / and landed in my eye / i screamed aloud / as it tore through them / and now it's left me blind." the color change is to signify her becoming blind ^^

I would suggest to have the animation run more smoothly, I know the stops are part of the movie but on some parts they weren't necessary, other than that, we have a fine piece of art here, well done man, great job. ;)

So I'll give it a 4.5/5 and a 5/5, keep it up please. ^^

This movie touch a lot of subjects at once, greek mythology, long distance relationships, even situations in life, when we have ended bad relantionships and we´ve to start a new one letting the other person reach us, anyway, your homework or project was about to create a story, congratulations, you created one with impact and three different perspectives...Kisses, Hugs and A+
By the way..Pleaaaaseee a preloader...it is too slow..

did this have aything to do with greek mythology? where the plant lady was gaia and the space dude was cyrus

while i am a huge greek mythology lover, and dryads are of greek myth origins, the thought of it being gaia and uranus never really crossed my mind (btw, i'm assuming you meant uranus, the starry sky, since it was from their union she was born. that and i couldn't figure out who cyrus was lol) ^^
