Yeah... the ending really took me for a loop. It felt, to me, like the game actually had a message to tell. Rather than passing itself off as a parody, it was actually just accepting what it was destined to be. A (supposedly) pretentious game.

Originally I thought it was going to be a parody of the "deep" indie games that plague this site like a horde of locusts nowadays, and in a sense I wasn't disappointed; simple piano music in the background like every "deep" game ever, it's a simple platformer, and the story is short. I liked that there was a twist at the end, though, I wasn't expecting that ending.
However, the game's design is actually quite clever; it almost never directly tells you what you need to do and instead uses metaphors to explain what to do. I liked that VERY, VERY much, as telling you what to do without being direct about it is a throwback (in my opinion) to the old NES/SNES era when games taught you how to play as you were playing it.
Good work for only taking four hours.

Great game--love the twist ending. At first I thought it was just going to be making fun of pretentious games, which seemed a bit boring, but I played it anyway because I figured it'd be quick. The ending was a great metaphor. After having gone through all those levels, you really feel the loss in the end, as it was all for nothing--nothing but the journey and to be able to say you've done anything for love, the classic story. Good music choice, and I like the inventive levels, breaking the rules and such. Concise and poetic.
I accuse this game of homophobia. Why only a blue and pink square? What about all those blue squares out there that also like blue squares? I'm off to write a petition to have homosexual couplings added to this game...
