EDIT: v1.1 is up. It includes the ability to catch enemy fish with the net (to get some points and a breather for a couple seconds), NG medals (if this new system works like I think it does), and incorporates a second background track into the game. It does NOT incorporate the new mode spoken about in the audio description for Your Violent Fishy Doom. That comes later. Maybe.
This is my Ludum Dare 23 entry! The theme was Tiny World, and just as Miyamoto gets his ideas from real life, I got Fish Simulator X from having a fishtank in my dorm, and perhaps not being the BEST fishkeeper ever (although definitely not as bad as the game might suggest).
And for those not in the know: Ludum Dare is a game jam. A game jam is where you design a game in a small amount of time. In this case, 48 hours.
Anyway, this is the first Jam I participated in where I had to work alone. So everything above was coded, drawn, designed, and composed by me. And I think I exceeded my expectations (mainly in the music and art departments).
In FIsh Simulator X, live the life of a very unlucky fish as he tries to survive against the forces of a horrible fishkeeper and an ever-expanding school of hungry predator fish.
Thanks goes out to those who gave me advice/feedback at the woefully underattended Columbus meetup location for Ludum Dare.
Also, NG does not allow me to go over a height of 700 - the actual height of the flash is 750.
