Hey guys! It's my first music game! I included lots of great soundtracks for you to play along to the beat of.
Earn stars as you play songs to unlock new levels! Unlock all of the stars and you'll be able to play a bonus minigame!
Compete for the best total score, which is sum of all your highscores on each song, in a real time ranking system right from the main menu.
Get in to the rhythm and play along to visually stunning animations that react to how you hit notes as you play. And of course, featuring tons of awesome and efficient particle effects.
- High quality speakers or headphones are recommended.
Enjoy!

This game's concept is pretty awesome and different ^^
Definitely a fun, different way of playing a rhythm game, loved it!
My only complaint is actually 'feeling' the rhythm of the songs..
It's hard to describe but.. Like.. When you play GH or Rock Band or games of the sort, there's always this little 'popping up' of the notes when you hit them, or even when you don't, kind of helps keeping the eye/ear/limb rhythm better.
I found out that even when my clicks matched the tempo of the song (sometimes 1/2 notes, 1/4th or even 1/8th notes), my clicks had to be delayed just 1/16th of a note either before or after to actually get those 'perfects' needed for high scores.
So my only suggestion would be for (hopefully!) next opus of the Beat Universe game;
- Maybe implement an option for 'mouse delay' or 'note delay' where you can adjust the delay of when notes have to be pressed?
or
- Implement some sort of 'beat-keeping-note-bouncing' feature, to make it easier to keep the rhythm on some harder / faster songs (Like xKore's 'Fire', the 'repeat notes' are sometimes hard as hell to keep up with without the use of auto-play).
As for the rest of the game, it was brillant!
Interface was easy to use, controls felt intuitive, too, they just seem to need a tad bit of tuning options, the song choice was P.E.R. Fect for the game style and overall feel was great!
Thanks for the.. what.. four hours of pure fun you've brought me with this awesome game!

You're searching around the flash games and you start to notice one of them looks a lot like osu. Do you really care? Not really. Anyway I didn't get much time to play but I rather enjoyed the theme.
