Daily 2nd place, frontpaged, so many kind reviews and such a nice rating! Well, thanks a lot guys, you're awesome! :D

EDIT: This game was inspired by 'Motherload'. It is about mining ores and selling them to buy upgrades and drill deeper. Utopian Mining is part of this mining genre, so the games share the same basic concept. However, I did my very best to make it different to other mining games, by adding a different atmosphere, a story, some quests, cartoony-8bit-graphics and another feeling to it (and some other small stuff, too).

I hope you enjoy playing it. :)

Welcome to Utopia!
A few days ago a storm destroyed nearly the whole town.
Help these people and find out more about the Core-Ore...
Mine around as a mining robot, earn money, buy better hardware and complete missions.

This game has a few missions, different upgrades for your robot like drills, chasis, cooling liquids and batteries, awesome music made by Kevin MacLeod, some selfmade 8bit sounds, and lots of coal, iron, gold, wolfram, smaragd, ruby and diamonds!

How to play:
'LEFT', 'UP', 'RIGHT', 'DOWN' - move around
'X' - interact with things
'C' - cancel or leave
'J' - jobs
'M' - map
'I' - inventory

I've always loved mining upgrading games, and the 8-bit pixleated feel is fresh for this type of game, but I do feel that the Motherload vibe was just a bit too strong on this one.
But I still liked the idea of a storyline.
Good job.

Nice and relaxing game... the upgrade curve is a little weird though. It would feel more natural if 1. the battery upgrade gets some nerf 2. cooling liquid doesn't carry you all the way to the bottom so the health upgrade is not as pointless as it is 3. either high level ores sell for less or quest reward decreases so you don't buy everything too early...

I really like this game. Good graphics, idea and easy to play.
Major issue for me is that its not saving it. I've played this twice now, come to save it and when I've gone back it has not registered it.
I do like this game but rather not sit in one sitting and play it till the end,

Good quick game easily completed would be cool if there was more to do in game, maybe make it a little more challenging or perhaps both.

I know I spent a lot of time on Motherlode, and when I first saw that in the game description I buckled down for some serious mining that would take me a week. Sadly, it didn't really take me a week. Under two hours actually. I enjoyed those two hours, and the game was still fresh enough I would continue on after that.

You play as a little metal robot called... "Robot"... who is there at this place to mine for various thingiemabobbies. Of course, it would be a boring game if you started off able to just aim down and win. You have to preform quests and dig up resources to advance and dig more resources up for more quests and ect.

It's a tried and true method that works well in a lot of games, Toss The Turtle made it *really* popular way back when. What I do appreciate is that the game is NOTHING like Motherlode. Different setting, quests, and somewhat interesting characters inhabiting the world. Small world, mind you.

If you've got some time and want to relax, I'd play this little gem. If you're not into cute little mining robots, that's your choice. But I say give it a go.
