Daily 2nd place, frontpaged, so many kind reviews and such a nice rating! Well, thanks a lot guys, you're awesome! :D

EDIT: This game was inspired by 'Motherload'. It is about mining ores and selling them to buy upgrades and drill deeper. Utopian Mining is part of this mining genre, so the games share the same basic concept. However, I did my very best to make it different to other mining games, by adding a different atmosphere, a story, some quests, cartoony-8bit-graphics and another feeling to it (and some other small stuff, too).

I hope you enjoy playing it. :)

Welcome to Utopia!
A few days ago a storm destroyed nearly the whole town.
Help these people and find out more about the Core-Ore...
Mine around as a mining robot, earn money, buy better hardware and complete missions.

This game has a few missions, different upgrades for your robot like drills, chasis, cooling liquids and batteries, awesome music made by Kevin MacLeod, some selfmade 8bit sounds, and lots of coal, iron, gold, wolfram, smaragd, ruby and diamonds!

How to play:
'LEFT', 'UP', 'RIGHT', 'DOWN' - move around
'X' - interact with things
'C' - cancel or leave
'J' - jobs
'M' - map
'I' - inventory

Lovely, great music, and the concept doesn't seem like stolen for me... all games have a general idea, and that's it, or aren't all fps about shooting?...

Anyway, just lovely!

I really enjoyed it. Good style and music. Just a little short. I found my self wanting to go help another town or maybe something happening after you get the core. Good game though.

Nice and adictive, i need more!

I have a feeling people will say this concept is stolen.......

...which is a shame because this simple and industrial game play style suits the mining genre well.

Job well done!

Miner Dig Deep for XBLA (Indie game).

This was an okay game, it is almost exactly the same as MDD, but FAR less time consuming. The upgrade pattern made little sense to me, and felt rushed towards the end (last upgrade means being able to go from 2 levels from the bottom, to the last part of the game).

If you're going to do something like this, you need to put more time into it.

Overall not bad, took me about 20 minutes to fully beat it (I debated on mining out every square in the game, then got very, VERY bored). If you want to expand on this, make different worlds or whatever. Give us more types of equipment (such as adding a circle of light being your only way around, as I'm sure you know), and more quests. You can do better. lol
