Daily 2nd place, frontpaged, so many kind reviews and such a nice rating! Well, thanks a lot guys, you're awesome! :D

EDIT: This game was inspired by 'Motherload'. It is about mining ores and selling them to buy upgrades and drill deeper. Utopian Mining is part of this mining genre, so the games share the same basic concept. However, I did my very best to make it different to other mining games, by adding a different atmosphere, a story, some quests, cartoony-8bit-graphics and another feeling to it (and some other small stuff, too).

I hope you enjoy playing it. :)

Welcome to Utopia!
A few days ago a storm destroyed nearly the whole town.
Help these people and find out more about the Core-Ore...
Mine around as a mining robot, earn money, buy better hardware and complete missions.

This game has a few missions, different upgrades for your robot like drills, chasis, cooling liquids and batteries, awesome music made by Kevin MacLeod, some selfmade 8bit sounds, and lots of coal, iron, gold, wolfram, smaragd, ruby and diamonds!

How to play:
'LEFT', 'UP', 'RIGHT', 'DOWN' - move around
'X' - interact with things
'C' - cancel or leave
'J' - jobs
'M' - map
'I' - inventory

I have played for a while now and hat I can say is that this game is pretty good. The games currency on what minerals you mine is good also the health and battery mechanic is a nice touch to the game, though this game reminds me a bit of other games like that DoomedFaith said it reminded him of MotherLoad or what supergoku24 said it reminded him of mega miner but there are a lot of differences to those games since one of them had quests or jobs that you call in the game but anyway good game and I'll finish it and hope that you make great games like this in the future.

Very fun game, although obviously a bit too derivative of Minecraft. Was still fun though, just waaay too short. There is a lot of unsued (town-level) map, so I hope to see further expansions in the future!

This is a great game, i also remember thinking this when i played the game Motherload, which was the same thing only created years ago. not to say that this game is in anyway cheapened by it's glaring similarities to it's predecessor, this is a game that took Motherload and simplified it beautifully. Motherload had a persistent sense of tension in the way that it was very easy to run out of fuel beneath the surface if not careful, this game seemed to try to ease that tension by tightening up the controls, enlarging the amount of world you can see around you at any given time, and having a beautiful soundtrack playing while you mine.

the only real complaint I have was that at a certain point in the game (around 13 min in) it suddenly became WAY too easy to get money and completely took any challenge out of the game, the rare ores were practically throwing themselves in front of my drill .

Overall this is a very good game, it holds your attention and it was calming (at least for me)
