Full Title: Nightwish - The Crow, The Owl, and The Dove [Nuclear Blast Fan Video Contest]

Simple, I've worked on a music video for an online contest involving a Finnish symphonic metal band. This is the result, a story of a mecha pilot and her dream. Not very "Nightwish" I know, so I guess treat it as an original anime music video. In the end, I hope you enjoy this mash up of combining one of my favorite band's music, with some of my favorites that I loved since I was young (which I guess ties in with the theme of the song).

You have an animation/music flow that synchronizes almost perfectly, but the slide motions for the almost paper-puppet-esque figure diminishes the impact. The art style is clean, which I like, and the song choice is out of context, adding to her sadness over something we don't know about. As to WingZero75: Dude, go to Youtube, look up a song called "Dark Chest Of Wonders," sit back, and let your eyes bleed from your skull so that you can better hear the music.

I saw someone call this music metal. I thought I would die laughing. Seriously? Slipknot is metal, Mortad is metal. These guys are drugged out hippies who smoked one too many joints. But I digress, I am a pot head as well. I really didnt care for the music and near the end had to shut it off as my ears were ready to detatch and leave me.

The animation though wasnt too bad. I found it to be a little stiff, bit I think your style could really have potential. I think if you had put in more time, it would have been a bit better. I did read your comment about being on a time crunch so its understandable. It could have had a lot more potential if it wasnt bound by the lyrics of the song. Like, no fucking birds. All in all, I think a 3.5 is fair, even though my first thought was 2. Just because I dont like the music doesnt mean its a bad piece all together. But then again, what do I know? I couldnt animate a stick falling and cant draw to save my life.

They are a symphonic metal band, but they've branched out to other genres for their latest album, such as a jazz ballad with "Slow, Love, Slow". Off the top of my head, I suggest you look up the music video "Storytime", which is more typical of what they do, or "Bye Bye Beautiful" since they said is "good old classic rock and roll".

Sure, maybe it's better if I'm not bound by the lyrics, but then it defeats the point of creating a music video for the song's contest. I've seen a good number of contest submission, and I love their interpretations. Some of them interpreted the birds as people and the whole thing is a metaphor, and it worked out great, and wished I thought of it.

I i liked it. The music fits great with the script you made.
The only thing is that the animation cold be more fluid.
Still not bad work.
