The art is pretty. I cant say much else as I couldnt get past the first part. Maybe Im slow. I like to think im not. I tried 15 times and still didnt get it....thats not including the times I tried BEFORE I started counting. Dont know what to do or how to dodge that knife. Your hints are terrible.

Really wish there was a tutorial or something? No clue wtf to do. I give it 2 stars just for the art ive seen so far.

When it comes to video games typically the creators will lean more towards a slow progression in difficulty as opposed to making it too difficult to begin with. My suggestion, if players have to make multiple attempts at even starting the game, they will find it not worth their time to continue on.

In short, ease up on the knife at the beginning.

On a brighter note, I think the idea and the graphics are appealing.

I won't lie, some elements of this are waaay too hard and need to be toned down a little bit - that kunai knife dodge at the beginning was particularly hard and took me several goes to get through.

Afterwards though I found the difficulty curve levelled off and the control responses smooth and intuitive. The arena is well designed, particularly the northern forest and rock stream running through it. I loved the use of the rope to climb trees and the saw to cut down tracker jacker nests. I thought Cato was a little too hard with his javelins and sword, but I guess you had to keep losing him in the grassland in the east and not fight him at the lake.

The inventory system is little slow and difficult to handle, I feel, and would have liked to see an option for combining elements, but the sheer variety of items and weapons to use make up for this, although obtaining them is really difficult. Would it have killed you to put the checkpoints closer together?

All in all the art is really well done and the game handles wonderfully, with great replayability, although there are definitely some really hard parts that need to be made easier. Well done!
