Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.

[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]

[Current version: 1.7]

TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.

MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

This game has a lot of potential to be one of the greatest shooter games and possibly r.p.g. too. Great thinking to the creator of having an Galaga style with a twist of free roam and you can actually upgrade your ship too, instead of hoping you hit the mother****** without dying over and over due to having a shitty HP. Storyline is beyond epic, and everything else is the same way. Only had a few problems with lags, but thank god the game automatically saves after a mission/upgrade. Overall its a pretty kickass game that deserves a 5 out of 5.

One of my favorites. The art style is very nostalgic, kinda reminds me of rouge like games or ASCII Sector.

I like this game a lot. It really gives you a feeling that if you were not just sitting in front of the computer playing it you could definitely make a positive impact on your world. Thanks Jonas!

This game was average at first but the more and more I played it the more I liked!.
Tully this games gets better and better the more deeper you go into the game.
The game was perfect.
The only flaw was there is not a part 2~~~~!!!! I want more. One of the best space shooter I have played on newgrounds. What makes this game so special is rpg aspects of the game. It got me really into the game the comments I read in each mission.
The upgrades were simple but useful.
The game is kinda difficult in the start because the laser is weak so I had to spend more time evading enemies than killing them. So the best thing to do is do only the easy missions first :).
Then after you buy regeneration upgrade the game becomes so easy.
I loved the upgrade that reduces damage caused by crashing into objects by half it was like the ultimate attack combined with regeneration and high hp you just crash into enemies and kill them
I killed the sword of the empire just by crashing into it! sadly it does not work on last boss :). I checked to see who the author of this game was and he the maker of one of the most unique point and click games. :) Its amazing you can create another theme game and still make it special like your other games.
