Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.
[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]
[Current version: 1.7]
TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.
MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

Fan-fucking-tastic one of the best vertical shooters on newgrounds. Can't wait for a sequel

I really like the graphics and the gameplay. The various enemy types are also a very nice aspect. The imho only major negative side is that the early upgrades seem pretty weak for their price.
All in all very enjoyable!

Like all space-shooter games; this lacks a bit of uniqueness and if anything the only unique factor about it is terrible in my mind. The only thing that is unique to me about this game is that it takes too long to kill an enemy, and most can escape via off screen by the time you go to kill it. Majority of the enemies in the first level got passed me due to this strangeness. I did honestly try to kill them but when my laser cannons fire slow, I move fast, they move fast, and they take two to three hits (while I gotta dodge and hit the next one) - its just too much.
The way to solve this is to either increase damage, or to increase firing speed. Another way is to decrease movement speed / make the game take more time to get from top to bottom.
Over all I'm going to rate the game a bit low because I simply cannot make myself get beyond the first level. It looks like this game has potential - and please do not think this is a rude post - I simply think it could have some work done on it.

Great game. It keeps freezing on me in Firefox which is really frustrating. The early upgrades are a bit expensive, considering the gun can only kill the weakest enemies; a decent cheap firepower upgrade would make the early stages more fun.

Excellent game, really enjoyable. when I started playing I saw only another space shooter, but once I started getting into the game it was really hard for me to stop! I loved this game and hope to see more of this kind!
