Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.

[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]

[Current version: 1.7]

TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.

MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

I enjoyed this game. The graphics reminded me of old school games. The controls were fine.

I had a problem with the game size. I could not see my money and button of the screen at the same time. The gameplay was dragged out. It seemed like the same thing over and over.

Good work on this game. Will there be a sequel?

Truly, a game for the Ages.

I absolutely loved my experience in Traitor. Not because of the gameplay, too; that was actually pretty tedious at times, and not at all fun.

What really got me was the writing, and the atmosphere of the game. I loved the intro and the ending, and when I got to the Supply Ships, I felt some honest emotions with them. I actually heard them groveling, heard them whimpering and begging they would not be shot.

I love how evil and hilariously incompetent the Empire was. I enjoyed the numerous complaints, and absolutely adored the various colonies different types of speech. I loved the sarcasm, the fear, the reluctance, and the sheer hilarity of their comments, most especially with the pirates. Goddamn they made me laugh with that reveal.

Excellent work with the story. You really set a need for urgency, to win this, to not give up and bow down to the empire. I felt like I was at the helm of my ship, the fate millions of lives in my hands.

The ending was just perfect. I love how everyone laughed, celebrating the fact that they were free.

PS. Thanks for once more proving my stupidity with the ambush. Goddamn that was clever!

It was okay. Gameplay was fun for the most part, but the difficulty curve is extremely unbalanced. The first few missions were moderately challenging, but after the first weapon upgrade I found myself tearing through even the advanced missions without even trying. It's only at the very end that things finally started to pick up again. Being able to choose my own path is nice, but I would have preferred a more linear progression instead of having to slog through several clusters of beginner levels to complete everything.
