Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.

[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]

[Current version: 1.7]

TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.

MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

One of the only Games on Newgrounds I bothered playing through entirely. Job well done, I thought it had a very interesting take on the sense of justice, not unheard of from other stories but I can see the care that went into making it, style plus character upgrades is a win for me. I can see the possibility for you expanding on this concept further and I look forward to it. Wish you the best as I enjoy seeing well made work.

This game was average at first but the more and more I played it the more I liked!.
Tully this games gets better and better the more deeper you go into the game.
The game was perfect.
The only flaw was there is not a part 2~~~~!!!! I want more. One of the best space shooter I have played on newgrounds. What makes this game so special is rpg aspects of the game. It got me really into the game the comments I read in each mission.
The upgrades were simple but useful.
The game is kinda difficult in the start because the laser is weak so I had to spend more time evading enemies than killing them. So the best thing to do is do only the easy missions first :).
Then after you buy regeneration upgrade the game becomes so easy.
I loved the upgrade that reduces damage caused by crashing into objects by half it was like the ultimate attack combined with regeneration and high hp you just crash into enemies and kill them
I killed the sword of the empire just by crashing into it! sadly it does not work on last boss :). I checked to see who the author of this game was and he the maker of one of the most unique point and click games. :) Its amazing you can create another theme game and still make it special like your other games.

You certainly invested a lot of time into making this game. It shows. The gameplay's solid, the art's consistent, and there's much to read before the missions.

I didn't like this game. It's a bare game that accepts some sort of space theme, but never elaborates or goes into detail. What bothers me is that you name all of these little places, habitats, sectors, but you did not name the main character. Rather, you left it a some generic title "traitor" which never expands into a necessary theme in the game.

Now, you know what other game does that and I truly hate them for it? Pokemon. They're willing to insert 200-some pokemon each game, but refuse to leave its main characters any identity to go on.

The game is lacking, but I read a bit on the Internet and see that you wanted to focus on the context. That's fine and all, but I think you could get a better game experience with you just associated all of the dialogue to character portraits, rather than station names.

Well, it looks good so my score is giving you the benefit of the doubt, but i've encountered a glitch at the map screen, apparently there's meant to be a shop there but all i see is asteroids. i can see my credits in the top left and i can access the menu, but other then that there's nothing. I can't continue the game. i've tried re loading and i'm playing on chrome.

also, a side note, the game doesn't fit into my screen properly. could you make it have an option to reduce the size?
