Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.
[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]
[Current version: 1.7]
TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.
MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

this game was motherfucking AWESOME! this is retro gaming I felt like I was playing one of the classic shooter games you would usually find for the NES or saga. I loved the nostalgic feel of it, the originality, even the classic graphics of it! This was just pure amazement please make more!

This is my first review ever *nervous laugh*
Well here goes nothing~
The entire story-line was simply amazing!
The little details and the unique dialogues wherever you went really added a nice feeling of depth to the galaxies / conglomerations you visit!
The message gets through clearly, precisely and is brought up very fluidly by the story and the cut-scenes.
At any and all point of the game, I felt compelled to drive on forward and bring justice to the people, no level were 'impossible' to do (some of them required back-tracking to simpler, easier missions I had skipped to upgrade the ship, but all missions were do-able). And at all times, the missions still had me stay on my guard for those humongous one-hit-monstrous asteroids, and had a fairly decent amount of challenge to them all the way to the final boss.
The graphics' style has a very unique, retro feel to it that I personally found perfect for the mood and genre of the game. It's very 'arcade space shooter' yet has a little bit more depth than that, with the way the galaxies are drawn and such.
As for the music, to be honest, I was so immersed into the missions that it almost slipped right by my ears, which isn't such a good thing, hahah. Only advice I'd have on that is to maybe.. make it 'pop out' a bit more, make it more present to the game in general. Altough now, when listening to it attentively, it's actually a perfect fit, heh.. Well that might've just been me being too immersed into the shooting, hahah!
The only thing I find something to criticize about is the replay value of the game itself isn't great. Sure I loved it, but loved it as a one-time-go-thru-and-feel-a-good-sens e-of-accomplishment kind of love, haha. I'm sure spin-offs or sequels to this game would be awesome and attract quite a lot of people though!
That said, it still does not make this game worth anything less than a 5 !

Not bad. I like the overall structure of the game, and the graphics are pretty cool.
My only real problem is that sometimes the controls stick, making it hard to control my ship. This is especially problematic when dealing with mines, attack ships, and giant freaking rocks, and I'm not sure what would cause this.
That being said, keep up the good work!

Nicely done!
You were able to integrate exploration, mini games and a nice story to an old gaming concept.
The result is a great game that is entertaining to play and a frexh take on a classic genre.
The graphics were simple but elegant.
I would suggest more variations in missions. This game deserves to be larger. Adding more races and territory control aspects, or an rts feel would put this game over the top.
