Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.

[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]

[Current version: 1.7]

TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.

MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

Loved it. I did want you to know that I somehow got into what seemed to be Debug mode randomly in the middle of me playing a stage. Showing when things would fade in/out, Map1, FPS, etc. Not too sure how it happened.

Unlike the majority of votes i find this game very dull. Graphically it is interesting but, the execution is horrible. The screen is too small for the size of your ship and the enemies ship. When enemies appear on screen, they either are invulnerable to the first couple of shots or they jump. You should have used a smooth appearance script for a more fluid style of game instead of one that feels like you just stopped caring and said to hell with it. i enjoy the open mapping of the game and that is all. I don't play top down shooters much because of gameplay and sizing problems like this. To sum up everything i said, learn to top down shooter.

GOOD GAME also the arena wuz easy (hint: line ur shot up in front of the enemies movement which in other words means u can kill them without losing or losing much hp.)

The first thing that struck me was the art style. Very retro but modern at the same time. I loved it straight away. But after a few minutes I felt I'd soon get bored of this game. I can't really remember why, but in the end, the humour, style, balancing, progression, open-endedness whereas the game type is pretty much linear by definition, odd bit of humour, multiple "minigames" for lack of a better term, and all the hundreds of other bits that are to numerous to mention came together into one really quite extraordinary game. And although I'm not particularly fond of vertical scrollers, I kept playing this till 2.30 in the morning, and it has officially made me a fan of Jonas Kyratzes.

Also worth mentioning are the intro and outro. Whoever says that text doesn't belong in games is a fool, and anyone who says games aren't art have never played one like this.

Keep up the good work.

Marvelous game, with really good history and equally great gameplay. Enjoyed every minute of it.
