Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.
[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]
[Current version: 1.7]
TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.
MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

Great work! I played through the whole game and loved it. It was a bit hard to remember exactly where, within a system, the upgrades were (after getting enough credits to purchase). Keep up the good work!

Amazing game. I especially liked the storyline and the upgrade system. The only thing I didn't really like about it was that I had to run around looking for a specific upgrade or mission. I especially had a hard time looking for Amaethon again when I had the 3000 credits.
Oh, and another thing, maybe you could have made the player fail the mission automatically if they shot at those people carrying the med supplies for Occator Prime. Either that or make another plotline for the non-traitor. :)))))
Overall, excellent game.

I think this is a really great game. The story is a bit cliche, but lovable nonetheless. A very memorable vertical shooter.
Things I liked about this: the upgrades were great, I think the difficulty curve was good and well-paced, story was cool - and the writing was awesome! Much much better than I expected! I really liked how I got to explore the whole area without much direction of in which order I should do it. I like that there was an area of extreme poverty, an area of moderate poverty, a scientific area, etc. It gave the game much more depth and poignancy than it would've had otherwise. Also, I think the designs for the ships and creatures were pretty inspired.
Cons - not much. The sound effects were slightly lacking. I wish there was more indicator when my ship got damaged. Sometimes a sound would pop up when I got hit, sometimes it didn't. It had weird varying volume sometimes. I like the stencil effect thing, but sometimes it gave the game a bit less solidity, but maybe that was what you were going for.
All in all, cool game. The writing really made it for me. Thanks for sharing this :)
