I liked the scenery, the artwork was extremely well done, even the makeup on the actors was really good. Overall, I'm a big fan of these types of games, and yours is one of the better I've seen. I only really had 2 problems with it.

-The timer took away a lot of the atmosphere because it puts the player in more of a "this is a game and I have a goal and a time limit" mindset, and doesn't let them really get into the game as if they were really in this creepy old mansion with these spirits.
-The ghosts popping out. Yes, I jumped at nearly all of them, but the only one that really SCARRED me was the one who DIDN'T pop out. (The one at the bottom of the stairs saying to leave him alone.) Things popping out and making a loud noise are good for a cheap jump or adrenaline rush, but not real "Shit, I'm gonna die in this place." terror.

Next time I'd say just let the player explore the area and complete goals at their own pace. The feeling of being trapped will do the work of making them feel like they need to hurry better than a timer. Also, more atmospheric scares like the little girl singing rather than sudden loud noises. You just set the seed and let the player's mind go crazy with anticipation of danger.

Other than that, great game, sir. You have done extremely well overall.

Thanks so much. This is great feedback, we really appreciate your explanation of what works for you. We, too, like the subtle scare of letting the player's mind do all the work - but we also love to watch our friends jump out of their seats while they play. ;)
We'll definitely keep your comments in mind as we develop new projects.
Thanks again - and we're glad you liked the game!

Cool visuals, but I think the sound could use a little work. Some of the screams were a little too loud and you could tell when the ambient sound looped which kinda ruined it, but then again I'm an audio nerd. :P

ProgressivegamesDLE responds:

Thanks! We definitely appreciate the feedback, especially from an audio nerd. ;)

Good game based on content, and the fact it will make you jump. The downsides are finding the damn marbles, and lack of a way to navigate, I found myself going in circles till I found two or three places I hadn't been, and the lack of a good ending, I spent thirty minutes here and all I got was an ad for the next release. what a gip . 3 out of 5 for being a decent game with a few rough edges.

ProgressivegamesDLE responds:

Fair enough. :) This game is a beta test of elements that we'll be using in future games, so we appreciate the feedback. Hope you'll check us out when our newer games come out. :)

It seems like it could be a good game, but there are some flaws. Maneuvering around is a bit confusing at first and doesn't become much clearer. After figuring out how to move around a bit, I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I found one marble and the telephone, but had no clue what to do with either. A little back story would be nice also. Like, why did they wake up in a basement, why are they searching for marbles? I feel this has potential, because it definitely had A LOT of work put into this, but it still needs to be touched up though.

Thanks for your comments, we'll keep them in mind. The story about the marbles is explained at the beginning, if you click on the little ghost girl... :)

First off, I love the concept and the atmosphere of the game. It has the potential to be a really good game. I have to agree with most people that the navigation was a bit of a nightmare (no pun intended) I'd suggest getting rid of the timer and maybe adding a little more depth to the story. Maybe you have to find the marbles and then the girl gives you a key to unlock some door. That was another thing SO many doors in all these photos that can't be opened. You'd have a lot more cool scary exploring to do if they opened. Still not sure what the phone was for and I beat it without touching it. Maybe some ghost can chase you down at some point? Something cool like that, you're a smart group you can figure something out.

Bonus points for making me jump out of my chair a little bit, and further bonus points because the girl crawling down the hallway at the start of the game telling me to wake up is super cute. A good game that with some fine tuning could be a GREAT game. Hope to see more from you in the future.

Thanks so much for your response. :) We definitely wanted to do much more with this, but since it was just a beta test for the elements that we want to use in future projects, we wanted to get it out to the public quickly so we could get some feedback. You have some great suggestions, right up our alley!
