A simple RPG I coded after learning global variables, really more of a test than an actual game. All of the info is on the credits. Don't really pay much attention to the graphics or quality of the buttons, this was all about actionscript. You can fight monsters (Well monster, all the same one) using two different styles of attacks and after you kill it, you get gold and EXP that you can use to buy weapons and level up your stats. Don't forget to buy weapons and level up your stats before you start a fight and to run away if you are fighting a loosing battle.
A special thanks to Hetman80 for the art!

a quite shallow game, but you figured out variables, and that's more than I've been able to do.
however, if you added more of a story and a save feature, this could become more of a game and less of a test. under the presumption that you intend to do that at all, I'll look forward to seeing the finished product.

Yeah, getting them to be global was a real hassle (I use AS3 so I can't simply do _Global var) and this was basically just me showing off that I could use them. And yeah my next game will be much better and polished. Oh and I could teach you if you want :D

It's exactly what the title says: Simple RPG. Really only thing you'll be doing is clicking to fight, and buying the best gear. That's really it.

seabere responds:

Prettymuch hit the nail on the head with that one. I probably should have added an end objective or something but eh its a test :P

as far as a test goes you did alright, if you actually tried making a full fledged RPG then i would try it

seabere responds:

Yeah I'm in the process of a much better one.

Eh too quick and pointless; besides i've never been keen on stabbing people with hand cannons

seabere responds:

Heh, thanks for pointing that out. And yeah it was a test but I just wanted to post something to mark an improvement over my previous venture into flash.

I really don't want to say this but now I must. How is this even an RPG? All you do is sit there and kill the same thing over and over again and all you upgrade is sowrd skills and health. This isn't even an RPG at all. Look at it. You can't even do quests and stuff. I am so dissapointed. All you do is the same thing. Upgrade some stuff and buy wepons to kill the same monster. There is no point to this game. Explain to me how is this an RPG?!?! I don't care what others will say. It must be said.

P.S. The only reason why I am giving this a one is because the music is pretty good. But thats it!

"really more of a test than an actual game" did you even read the description before posting that paragraph?
