Update: Thank you so much for the Daily 3rd and front page! You guys are awesome.

After a year of starting this, putting it off for a little bit and finally getting back to work on it, it's finally out. This is an animated tribute to one of my favorite games, Alan Wake. After originally playing the game, I was really inspired by the story driven gameplay and unique experience it provided, so I decided to make an animation dedicated to it.

However, with a short animation like this, I decided to stick with a simple action sequence that's familiar to the many encounters you face in the game. This is my second actual animation release and did a lot more with it, such as designing backgrounds and doing all of the art myself. Feel free to let me know what you think. I appreciate any constructive criticism. Enjoy!

That was Excellent with a capital E! The end credit music was epic, too! Great Job, my friend!

Omega 3 fatty acids are good for you!

Kinda slow paced.

RTWBrandon responds:

I love that line. I was planning on adding Taken quotes like that in the animation, but never did. If I make another one, I probably will. And like I said before, I'll work on my pacing in the future.

Great tribute to a great game, I can tell you worked hard on this. I especially liked the movements of the camera, the audio was amazing. Also saw the kitty at the beginning :P

One thing though, why is Alan angry all the time? I know he's bad ass and all, but bad asses can be happy A LITTLE BIT, can they?

Awesome job man.

RTWBrandon responds:

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I like how you're the first person to comment on the cat lol. I did that for my girlfriend. Also, Alan's mostly in a serious mood throughout the entire game, so I tried to keep that in the animation as well. His wife has disappeared and he's desperately trying to reach her, so naturally that wouldn't make anyone happy.

I logged in just to write a review. This made me want to replay it again. Absolutely loved the game and the tribute was pretty damn awesome im not going to lie. Id love to see more future tributes :D

RTWBrandon responds:

Thanks for taking the time to write one! I wouldn't mind working on another tribute in the future. It probably won't be my next project, but we'll see what happens.
