dys4ia is an autobiographical game about the period in my life when i started hormone replacement therapy.
That was absolutely brilliant.
Your movie deals with a very strange concept to most people, as it's not a common thing to consider how comfortable you are in your body (except perhaps during puberty, when everybody feels the same anyway, and you know you'll eventually grow out of it).
This movie though made the concept easy to grasp, using familiar game mechanics to represent emotions, and very human language - like when it says "tits" instead of boobs or breasts or whatever. It's unusual to read that word and really reminded me that I was interacting with a persons story, rather than just playing another arty flash game.
The bit about starting to feel as beautiful as your girlfriend sees you, that really touched me. It's great to know that you're feeling happier now.
was well inspirational. i hope one day the world will not be so closed-minded and every person of every kind can feel like they belong here.
In the meantime, best wishes for your future : ) and I hope to see some more inspirational-ish games (or just, well, whatever. Non-inspirational but fun is fine too, i guess :')
To thekipper3 below me:
What a dumb and naive question is that. This flash was clearly created due to frustrations caused by people like you.
Just because you can't imagine, doesn't mean there's no sense in it. This girl was born with a dick but didn't feel like a man. Some people have that, and can only be happy when they are the gender they feel they are. Just be happy these people have an option to change their genders and can finally live a happy life.
And an imaginary man on the clouds is no argument, it only shows how hypocrite you are. I respect religions, but not if it's used as an excuse for intolerance.
Now that's off my chest, I'd like to say I like this game/animation. It tells a (quite original i might say) story, coming purely from emotions and frustration. And to be honest, it's simply interesting to know a bit about this whole trans-gender experience, since most people (including me) are hardly familiar with this. And obviously
@ thekipper3 kipper its a mental thing there are ppl whos brain are the opposite of gender i believe that answers your question of why?
Amazing and inspirational. Made me cry a little bit. <3
